Ransomware is a cyber-attack on your system where hackers gain access—usually through an infected email or website—then lock your systems down and demand a ransom. And it’s big business. In fact, according to Statista, 308 million ransomware attacks occurred globally in 2020, and the percentage of global businesses victimized by ransomware has risen to 68.5%. A report warns that small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) are at particular risk based on the attack trends seen during the first six months of the year. During the first half of 2021, 4 out of 5 organizations experienced a cybersecurity breach originating from a vulnerability in their third-party vendor ecosystem. While the increase in attacks affects organizations of all sizes, something that’s under-reported in the coverage of current cyberthreat trends is the impact on the small business community.
Unlike larger corporations, small and medium-sized companies don’t have the money, resources, or staffing expertise needed to counter today’s threats. That’s why they turn to IT service providers – but if those service providers are compromised, those SMBs are at the mercy of the attackers. As seen in the SolarWinds breach last year and the Kaseya VSA attack earlier in 2021, one successful attack means they can breach hundreds or thousands of SMBs downstream. However, when we see the recent attack on the large enterprises, specially into healthcare ,Supply chain and BFSI are facing regular cyber breach, where they don’t have the issue of investments. A report says, Data exfiltration continues to increase. In 2020, more than 1,300 victims of ransomware had their data publicly leaked following an attack, as cybercriminals look to maximize the financial gain from successful incidents. In the past, supply chain security primarily focused on physical security and integrity. Physical threats encompass risks with both internal and external sources, such as theft, sabotage and terrorism. The recent cyberthreats have risen to the forefront of supply chain security concerns. Cyberthreats include vulnerabilities in IT and software systems, like malware attacks, piracy, unauthorized ERP access and unintentional or maliciously injected backdoors in the purchased, open source or proprietary software used by organizations. Cybercriminals attack a weaker organization in the target's supply chain and use that access to meet their goals. Recently, Chinese government has ordered that its ministries stop using foreign-made hardware and software by 2022. Remote working varies considerably around the world depending on IT adoption, culture and mix of industries. In 2022, 31% of all workers worldwide will be remote (a mix of hybrid and fully remote). By the end of 2021, 51% of all knowledge workers worldwide are expected to be working remotely, up from 27% of knowledge workers in 2019, according to Gartner. The research firm also estimates that remote workers will represent 32% of all employees worldwide by the end of 2021. This is up from 17% of employees in 2019. A hybrid workforce is the future of the work, with both remote and on-site part of the same solution to optimize employers' workforce needs.
India and China will produce some of the largest numbers of remote workers, but their overall penetration rates will remain relatively low with 30% of workers in India being remote and 28% of workers in China working remote, according to Gartner. Digital products and services will play a big role in these digital transformation efforts. This longer strategic plan requires continued investment in strategic remote-first technology continuity implementations along with new technologies such as hyper automation, AI and collaboration technologies to open up more flexibility of location choice in job roles, Gartner said. A hybrid workforce will continue to increase the demand for PCs and tablets. In 2021, PC and tablet shipments will exceed 500 million units for the first time in history, highlighting the demand across both business and consumer markets.

Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) was launched by the Government to boost manufacturing in India. We continue to see gaming PCs and monitor sales at all-time highs and Chrome-based devices are expanding beyond education into the consumer market. In retrospect, the pandemic not only fueled PC market demand but also created opportunities that resulted in a market expansion. The government of India had introduced the PLI scheme offering incentives to companies manufacturing in 10 key sectors in the country. It has aimed at making manufacturers globally competitive and attract investment in the areas of core competency. The scheme is targeted at making the country an integral part of the global supply chain. Production linked incentive scheme is likely to boost the manufacturing output in 5-Years.
PM Modi said the government is continuously carrying out reforms to boost domestic manufacturing. In this year's Budget, about ₹ 2 lakh crore was earmarked for the PLI scheme for the next five years and "there is an expectation that the scheme would result in increasing the production by about 520 billion dollars in the next five years . This is one of the best ways to encourage local companies to make their presence felt in telecom manufacturing. Telecommunications sector has played a pivotal role in facilitating growth of the economy and is a key enabler of digital connectivity and Digital India. Soon after the announcement of the PLI scheme for electronics manufacturing, the Centre cleared the names of 16 companies. Over the next five years, these Indian entities have proposed a production output of Rs1.25 lakh crore.

Maple Capital Advisors’ report estimates that the Indian gaming industry will grow 41% annually due to the growth of digital infrastructure. By 2024, it claims, the gaming industry will be worth $3,750 million. Going by these numbers, we are on the cusp of a great Indian gaming boom.
