  • Pakistan Appoints Two New Coaches Ahead Of The T20 World Cup 2021 And More News

Pakistan Appoints Two New Coaches Ahead Of The T20 World Cup 2021 And More News

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have roped in former Australia batter Matthew Hayden and former South Africa pacer Vernon Philander for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled between October 17 to November 14 in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.

Hayden and Philander’s appointment come in the backdrop of recent resignations of Misbah-ul-Haq and Waqar Younis, who stepped down from their positions as head coach and bowling coach, respectively. While PCB announced Saqlain Mushtaq and Abdul Razzaq as the interim coaches of the national team for Pakistan’s upcoming home series against New Zealand, the board went ahead with foreign coaches for the multi-team tournament in the emirates.

England captain Joe Root and Ireland star Eimear Richardson have been voted winners of the ICC Player of the Month for August.

Root saw off competition from Jasprit Bumrah, the India pacer, and Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi to win the award following a stellar August for the England captain.

In the women’s award, Richardson saw off tough competition from teammate Gaby Lewis and Thailand’s Nattaya Boochatham.

England all-rounder Chris Woakes will be replaced by Australian pacer Ben Dwarshuis at the Delhi Capitals for 2021 IPL’s UAE leg, which commences on September 19. Woakes was one of the three players – the other two being Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Jonny Bairstow and Punjab Kings’ Dawid Malan – who recently pulled out of the second leg of the edition.

Woakes picked five wickets in three games in the first half of the tournament, which was brought to an abrupt halt in the first week of May after the emergence of Covid-19 inside the bio-secure environment prepared for the league. Dwarshuis, who has 100 T20 wickets in 82 matches at 23.73, was the second-leading wicket-taker during the Big Bash League 2020-21, with 24 wickets t 16.79 for the season champions Sydney Sixers. • Ian Chappell Naming Three Replacements For Ajinkya Rahane's No.5 Spot And More News

Ian Chappell Naming Three Replacements For Ajinkya Rahane's No.5 Spot And More News

India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has been short of runs lately and the same has earned him criticism from different parts. In the recently concluded Test series against England, the veteran batter accumulated just 109 runs in seven games with his average being just over 15. In fact, scoring consistently has been a concern for Rahane for a while. Hence, many fans and experts believe the right-handed batsman should make way for someone else.

Former Australia captain Ian Chappell is also of the same opinion. In fact, Chappell also named three potential candidates who can take Rahane’s number five position in Test matches. Wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant, and all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya have received backing from the Australian legend. With these three players contributing in multiple departments, Chappell believes their presence in the top five can provide the team more balance.

Former India skipper Sunil Gavaskar has slammed the rumour-mongers and the various speculations regarding the Indian team denying to play against England in Manchester deliberately. Notable, the fifth and final Test of the series at Old Trafford was cancelled after a Covid-19 scare in the visitors’ camp, leaving both BCCI and ECB to come upon a mutual decision of cancelling the encounter.

At the time of suspension, India led the series 2-1, having won the encounters at Lord’s and The Oval and losing at Headingley, while the series-opener in Nottingham ended in a rain-enforced draw. Things went smooth until the fourth fixture, when first India’s head coach Ravi Shastri tested Covid-19 positive, followed by Bharat Arun and R Sridhar, India’s bowling and fielding coach, respectively. Once assistant physio Yogesh Parmar tested positive on the eve of the final Test, the series was surrounded by clouds of uncertainty.

BCCI Directs Six Days Mandatory Quarantine For Players Coming From UK

The final Test between India and England got cancelled owing to some COVID-19 cases in the Indian camp. To further avoid the spread of the virus, the Indian side didn’t take the field in Manchester and the match stood cancelled. It has to be noted that the second phase of IPL 2021 is just around the corner and franchises are eyeing how to take their players out of the UK.

In the latest turn of development, it has been confirmed by a franchise official that BCCI has directed a mandatory quarantine of six days for players coming from the UK before they join the IPL bubble. It is very obvious that bubble to bubble transfer no longer stands valid as there are already few cases in the Indian camp.

Former Pakistan pace bowler Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his displeasure over the squad selected for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup scheduled to begin in Oman and UAE from October 17. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced the squad earlier this week and there were few notable omissions in form of few experienced players like Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Fakhar Zaman.

All the teams have the right to change their squads till October 10 and for that very reason, Akhtar has named few players whom he feels are correct for the T20 World Cup. “The Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup will be changed. Mohammad Wasim is not a chief selector, he is just a puppet,” said Akhtar to Cricket Pakistan.

In the light of the same events, some reports added that India didn’t play solely due to the commencement of the second leg of IPL 2021. As IPL 2021 is all set to kick off on September 19, few reports added that India are not willing to push the dates of the final Test. However, ECB Chief has brushed off all these reports and added that the cancellation of the Test had nothing to do with IPL.

“This is not the situation which has been created by the rescheduled IPL. That’s not the case. This Indian cricket team are as passionate about Test cricket

Veteran leg-spinner Imran Tahir has been left heartbroken after not being picked in South Africa’s squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021. Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced the 15-man contingent on Thursday (September) and there were several notable absentees.

Tahir was among them and the leg-spinner expressed his pain in an interaction. Notably, the 42-year-old revealed Graeme Smith, Cricket South Africa’s director, promised to pick him in the squad.

England and India were all set to play the fifth Test of the series in Manchester before dark clouds of COVID-19 loomed over. In the latest turn of events, the match stands cancelled.

It has to be noted that earlier Ravi Shastri tested positive for COVID-19 which was followed by one more staff member of the Indian camp.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced its squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2021 on Wednesday (8 September).

Favourite IPL team? | Best cricketer currently? | Free Hit with Muhammad Asad Ghous

Muhammad Ghous was born in Lahore. Later, he moved to New Jersey at the age of 11 and didn't start playing leather-ball cricket until several years later, but he progressed rapidly.

He was picked for USA Under-19 as a batsman after he was the top-scorer at the domestic Under-19 national championship in 2009. But at that summer's U19 World Cup Qualifier in Toronto, his offspin skills emerged in the form of a five-for against Afghanistan Under-19 and by the time the team arrived in New Zealand for the World Cup in January 2010, bowling had become his primary duty.

He was a captain of the USA team.

CricTracker caught up with the USA player for a rapid-fire chit-chat.

  • Joe Root Biography | Life Story, Records | England Captain Joe Root's Success Story

Joe Root Biography | Life Story, Records | England Captain Joe Root's Success Story

Being the captain of the England team is never easy. If it’s the Test side, the job is possibly more difficult. There’s a rich culture of loving Test cricket and the experience of doing well in the longest format. Unlike other countries, Test cricket is more important to England than any other format. At least that was the case until 2015.

But even with the success of the white-ball teams, Test cricket remains a thing of joy for the English fan. To lead the English Test side is possibly the biggest privilege a cricketer growing up in England can have. But there hasn’t been a more difficult time to lead the England Test team. Yet, he does that. He has done everything possible to stand up for this role.

Growing up in Yorkshire, he would have dreamt of playing for England. Being from a place that has produced batting maestros like Geoffrey Boycott and Michael Vaughan, the standards set for him were pretty high, to begin with. But he stood up to it. He learned the craft. When world cricket saw him for the first time at the U-19 World Cup 2010, everyone instantly knew something was special about him.

He made his debut in 2012 on England’s tour of India and started his career with an impressive 70-odd on a turning track in Nagpur. That knock helped England draw the match and take home a series from India for the first time in 28 years. It happened with possibly England’s best ever batting line-up. Alastair Cook, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell, Jonathan Trott, and England’s best ever wicket keeper-batter, Matt Prior. He was just the new kid on the block. Eight and half years later, he is all England has.

Since his debut, no one has played more Test matches than him. With time, England’s batting greats kept leaving one by one. In an era where the focus shifted to building a name for themselves in white-ball cricket, England somehow stopped producing batsmen who were capable of bossing Test cricket. Gone were the days where they had just fi

Gambhir Explains Dhoni's Mentor Selection, Mahmood Makes Bold Prediction On Ind vs Pak And More News

Speaking about the Dhoni appointment, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir tried to dissect the reason behind choosing ‘captain cool’ for this role.

Gambhir feels MS has an invaluable experience of handling pressure in crunch moments and that could be the biggest reason behind him getting a chance to mentor the national side.

Former India legendary batsman Sunil Gavaskar recently opened up regarding India’s selection of T20 WC and gave a little outrageous remark on Ashwin’s selection. Gavaskar referred to the spinner’s selection as a ‘consolation prize.’

The remark has come to the light when on India’s tour to England, Ashwin has not got even a single match so far. The former cricketer added that WC selection might just be a thing to make up for the England tour and it remains to be seen whether he will play in XI in T20 WC alongside India.

Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has shared his opinions about the recent happenings in Pakistan cricket along with the squad for the T20 World Cup which was recently announced.

Mahmood, who was also the bowling coach for a while of this Pakistan unit, felt that Fakhar Zaman and Shoaib Malik should have been picked in the squad.

Fakhar Zaman has been a regular in the first XIs of the Pakistan T20I team recently but many were surprised with his exclusion from the 15. He was, though, included in the reserves.

Split Captaincy Saga In Indian Cricket Team And Many More News

Sourav Ganguly, the BCCI President, clarified on September 13 that the resuming edition of the Indian Premier League 2021 has no relation with the cancellation of the final Test of the Pataudi Trophy, which he stated was cancelled purely because of fear of Covid-19 in the Indian camp. Ganguly further ruled out the chances of the contest being treated as a one-off fixture in the future.

England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have requested ICC to intervene through a letter directed to the apex board’s Dispute Resolution Committee. The decision regarding the status of the encounter, as to whether it is postponed, abandoned, or forfeited, lies solely under the jurisdiction of the ICC, which is yet to break silence on the matter.

Former England captain Michael Atherton in his column has expressed the concerns around Stokes’ unavailability for the winter when England will travel to Australia for the Ashes 2021-22. He has argued that England would miss more during that tour than they will during the T20 World Cup.

“If Stokes is absent for the entire winter, it will hurt England’s Ashes chances more than their T20 prospects. Without him, balancing the side remains problematic, genuine all-rounders of that class being a rarity,” Atherton wrote in the Times. Atherton’s point seems valid if we take a look at his T20I numbers.

Arun Dhumal, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) treasurer, has rubbished the reports suggesting India adopting split captaincy, with Virat Kohli set to pass on the limited-overs captaincy to Rohit Sharma. Dhumal, on the same day of the emergence of such reports, further stated in no uncertain terms that Kohli will continue to captain India in all three formats of the game, and also confirmed that BCCI did not have any meeting regarding the team’s captaincy.

Certain recent reports were suggestive of India adopting split captaincy to not only lessen the burden from Kohli – who has been leading th

  • Cricketers who can score 200 in T20 cricket

Cricketers who can score 200 in T20 cricket

Cricket, as a game, is evolving at a rapid pace with so many things, which once were considered impossible to achieve is now attainable. A lot of revolution has taken place, over the years, in the gentlemen’s game and most of the credit to that goes to the shortest format of the game,i.e. T20 cricket.

The onset of the 3-hour cricket game has given rise to money, fame, fan base, sponsors, and most importantly increased employment in the field related to cricket, directly or indirectly. Cricket is changing exponentially and records which seemed impossible a decade ago, are being broken pretty fast.

Initially, the idea of reaching a milestone figure of 200 for an individual player in 50-over cricket was considered an unimaginable task. However, in the past decade or so, cricketing fraternity witnessed so many players (six to be precise) breaching the barrier of reaching an individual score of 200 with Sachin Tendulkar becoming the first player to do so way back in 2010 against the Proteas.

5 Best Wicket Keepers of All Time | Top 5 Greatest Wicket Keepers in the Cricket World

Wicketkeepers are highly underrated in the gentleman’s game as while more weightage is given to a batsman or a bowler, there has been less curiosity regarding the role of the man behind the gloves.

However, it is one of the most prominent jobs as we all are aware of the phrase, ‘Catches win Matches’. One single mistake or missed stumping or missed catch can cost a team the whole match. The role of a wicketkeeper has been defined and redefined by several cricketers in different eras.

In modern-day cricket, more preference is given to a player who can do a fine job with both the willow and the gloves especially in white-ball cricket. There are a handful of players who have managed to balance their keeping and batting skills to emerge as greats of the game.

Here are the top 5 wicketkeepers in world cricket. #MSDhoni #Cricket #AdamGilchrist

Best XI of Australia v India Test series 2018-19 | Virat Kohli to captain | Rishabh Pant as keeper

The Border-Gavaskar series finally came to end and it would be fair to say that it has been a fine exhibition of Test cricket. A depleted Australian side won many hearts with their spirited display while a young Indian touring team showed that they can perform away from home and are not necessarily ‘flat track bullies’.

This series was going to be a make-or-break for quite a few players and the notable among them were KL Rahul and Murali Vijay. Both the openers of India failed miserably and they will be out of the squad for a while, by the looks of it. While many expected Virat Kohli to be the best performer the series, it was their number three, Cheteshwar Pujara who topped the charts and was instrumental in crafting the Indian wins. #TestCricket #BestXI #AustraliavIndia #India
