Potential risks of ‘Buy Now Pay Later’
New research by financial advice service OpenMoney finds almost 57% of adults aged 18 to 50 have now used buy now, pay later schemes, up from 49% last year. The largest rise in usage has been among 45 to 50-year-olds, where 16% growth in the last year makes it the age group most likely to choose the payment method, with 58% having done so compared to 56% of those aged 18 to 24 - contradicting the belief that it is largely a tool for youngsters. The survey, among 2,000 UK adults found that the most frequently bought items using BNPL are laptops, phones and other tech items, followed by clothes and holidays. 41% of respondents said they use it because they can’t afford to pay for an item in one go, double the number who feel it makes financial sense to spread the cost. Among 45 to 50-year-olds, those who use BNPL because they can’t afford an item upfront increased by 20% last year. Concerningly, those struggling to pay off their BNPL debts has also risen, from 38% last year to 43% this year and one in three users have turned to friends and family for help with repayments - an increase of 10% on 2020 figures - while seven percent took out a loan and five percent used a credit card to pay back the money.
Buy now pay later services are a form of payment where consumers make purchases and pay them off over a period of time in several installments, often interest-free. While BNPL is typically interest-free, some providers charge high late payment fees. Hayley Millhouse, managing director of OpenMoney, comments: “While from a budgeting perspective, spreading the cost of expensive items could make financial sense, it is worrying to see that two-fifths of users struggle to pay off the resulting debt, with many turning to friends and family or other forms of borrowing to make repayments.” The UK's Financial Conduct Authority will introduce new rules for buy now, pay late

With the growing competition from agile fintechs, traditional banks are adopting new technologies to provide better services to customers. This will be essential to attract new customers and stay competitive. At the helm of these advancements is a focus toward digitizing existing processes to meet the increasing demand for digital experiences.
A survey reveals that cloud technology is becoming more popular, especially as physical branches close and more customers are turning to entirely digital processes. According to a 2020 IDG Cloud Computing study, over 55% of fintechs and financial institutions are using multiple clouds to store their data and an average of 32% of companies’ IT budgets are dedicated to cloud transformation. By using the full extent of cloud capabilities, banks open themselves up to an entirely new way of functioning. In a survey done by Moody’s Analytics, 56% of bankers surveyed responded that the manual collection of data and subsequent back and forth with the client is the biggest challenge when initiating the loan process, consuming valuable time and resources for repetitive and mundane activity. आज़मगढ़ के वेदान्ता इंटरनेशनल स्कूल जिसकी स्थापना महामंडलेश्वर श्री श्री 1008 मौनी बाबा के कर कमलों द्वारा सन 2016 में हुवा था उसको सीबीएसई से 10+2 की मान्यता मिलने से पूरे विद्यालय परिसर में उत्सव सा माहौल रहा। सर्वप्रथम सुबह मॉर्निंग असेम्बली में बच्चों को उनके 10+2 की मान्यता की जानकारी देने के बाद बच्चों को चॉकलेट देकर मुँह मीठा कराया गया । तत्पश्चात सभी बच्चों ने विशेष कर 6,7,8 के बच्चों ने एक स्वर में कहाकि यह बहुत ही अच्छा है हम लोगो को 8वी कक्षा के बाद दूसरे स्कूल में जाने की जरूरत अब नही है। अभिभावकों ने कहा कि अब हमलोगो को अपने बच्चों को इंटरमीडिएट तक कि पढ़ाई अच्छे और सुचार रूप से प्राप्त करा सकेंगे। अभिभावक इनाम आज़मी, जगतपाल सिंह, सोहराब जी, प्रदीप सिंह सहित बहुत सारे अभिभावक विद्यालय परिसर में आकर अपनी खुशी का इज़हार किया। प्रधानचार्य आर एस शर्मा ने कहा कि किसी भी विद्यालय के लिये यह गर्व और सम्मान के विषय के साथ ही अच्छी शिक्षा देने के लिये मान्यता प्राप्त होना आवश्यक होता है। हम अभी तक केवल आठवीं तक ही अच्छी शिक्षा प्रदान कर पा रहे थे। अब हम अपने स्लोगन वी आर द बेस्ट, बेटर दैन द नेक्स्ट को और अच्छे से फलीभूत कर सकेंगे। विद्यालय के प्रबंध निदेशक शिव गोविंद सिंह ने कहा कि यह उपलब्धि बुढऊ बाबा की कृपा, माता-पिता के आशीर्वाद और उनके पुण्य प्रताप तथा अपने शुभचिंतकों के सहयोग से ही सम्भव हो पाया। शिक्षा रूपी प्रकाश से ही अज्ञानता रूपी अंधकार को दूर किया जा सकता है और इस अन्धकार को दूर करने में सीबीएसई की यह 10+2 की मान्यता मील का पत्थर साबित होगी। विद्यालय के अभिभावक ब्रम्हदेव सिंह ने ईश्वर की अनुकम्पा के साथ ही सभी शुभचिंतकों, अभिभावकों और प्रधानचार्य सहित विद्यालय परिवार के सभी सदस्यों का उनके सहयोग के लिये आभार ब्यक्त किया।
