मंकीपॉक्स की चपेट में आए देशों की संख्या 15 दिन के अंदर ही बढ़कर 15 हो गई है. कन्फर्म केसों का आंकड़ा करीब 100 बताया जा रहा है. भारत में हालांकि अभी तक मंकीपॉक्स का कोई केस नहीं मिला है, लेकिन सतर्कता काफी बढ़ा दी गई है. इस बीच महाराष्ट्र सरकार ने मुंबई में 28 बेड का एक वॉर्ड मंकीपॉक्स के संदिग्ध मरीजों के लिए रिजर्व कर दिया है. एयरपोर्ट पर ऐसे लोगों की जांच शुरू कर दी गई है, जो मंकीपॉक्स प्रभावित देशों की यात्रा करके आए हैं. महाराष्ट्र के अलावा कई और राज्यों में भी एहतियाती कदम उठाए गए हैं.इसी के मद्देनजर मुंबई में चिंचपोकली के कस्तूरबा अस्पताल में मंकीपॉक्स के संदिग्ध मरीजों के लिए 28 बेड रिजर्व कर दिए गए हैं. TOI की रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, अस्पताल के वार्ड 30 में पिछले कुछ समय से कोरोना के मरीजों को रखा जा रहा था. उससे पहले स्वाइन फ्लू के संदिग्ध मरीजों को आइसोलेट करने में इस वार्ड का इस्तेमाल होता था. बीएमसी की एग्जिक्यूटिव हेल्थ ऑफिसर डॉ. मंगला ने TOI को बताया कि मुंबई में सभी स्वास्थ्य केंद्रों को सूचित कर दिया गया है कि अगर उन्हें किसी ऐसे व्यक्ति की जानकारी मिले, जिसे मंकीपॉक्स होने का शक हो तो तुरंत कस्तूरबा अस्पताल के लिए रेफर करें. ऐसे सभी संदिग्ध मरीजों के सैंपलों की जांच के लिए पुणे के नैशनल वायरोलॉजी इंस्टिट्यूट में इंतजाम किए गए हैं.
बता दें कि मंकीपॉक्स मूल रूप से जानवरों में फैलने वाली बीमारी है. 1958 में सबसे पहले एक बंदर में इसे देखा गया था. इंसान में सबसे पहला संक्रमण 1970 में मिला था. यह एक दुर्लभ लेकिन गंभीर वायरल बीमारी है. ये संक्रमित जानवर या इंसान के संपर्क में आने से फैलती है. अगर कोई संक्रमित व्यक्ति के शरीर पर कटे-फटे हिस्सों के संपर्क में आ जाए या उसकी आंख, नाक या मुंह से निकले द्रव को छूकर अपने शरीर में पहुंचा दे या फिर कुछ देर तक उसके सामने खड़ा रहे तो भी ये बीमारी घेर सकती है.ये कवायद विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन की ओर से उस चेतावनी के बाद की जा रही है, जिसमें उसने कहा है कि जिन देशों में मंकीपॉक्स का संक्रमण नहीं फैला है, वहां इसके केस सामने आ सकते हैं. केंद्र सरकार के निर्देश के बाद नैशनल सेंटर फॉर डिजीज कंट्रोल (NCDC) ने जारी एडवाइजरी में कहा था कि भारत में मं

पिछले कुछ सालों से कोरोना वायरस महामारी से ग्रस्त पूरी दुनिया पर अब एक नया संकट मंडरा रहा है। मंकीपॉक्स नाम की बीमारी तेजी से लोगों को अपना शिकार बना रही है। पहली बार ब्रिटेन, इटली, पुर्तगाल, स्पेन, स्वीडन और अमेरिका समेत करीब 12 देशों में मंकीपॉक्स के रिकॉर्ड संख्या में दर्ज हुए हैं। अभी तक इन देशों में 100 के करीब मंकीपॉक्स मरीज मिल चुके हैं। जानकारी के अनुसार मामले को गंभीरता से लेते हुए विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने इस पर एक इमरजेंसी बैठक की है। बैठक में कई मुद्दों पर विस्तार से चर्चा हुई और बहस इस बात पर भी रही क्या मंकीपॉक्स को महामारी घोषित कर देना चाहिए।
