Once the victim has entered their information, the cybercriminals will use it to commit financial fraud.

#Telegram's founder Pavel Durov has accused WhatsApp of being a surveillance tool after hackers were able to hack into smartphones of various users, because of a vulnerability in WhatsApp's video sharing and playback features. The messaging app WhatsApp has been nothing but a surveillance tool for prying eyes.
#Meta recently revealed that WhatsApp users can get hacked because of a vulnerability in their video downloading and playback, which hackers can use to get full access to just about everything that’s on the WhatsApp user’s phone. This not only includes your emails and photos, but also other communications, especially SMSes from your banks, and app data from your banking and payment apps.
Talking about WhatsApp's security and privacy, WhatsApp claims to provide end-to-end encryption for all texts, chats, and video calls. However, many times the app has been victim to bugs and security issues that often-raised questions about its privacy.
GB #WhatsApp is a clone of the Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp, which may be spying on Indian users and reading their chats, according to a report by ESET, the maker of NOD32 antivirus. The cloned third-party version of WhatsApp isn’t available on Google Play. Hence, the versions of the clone app available on various download websites are riddled with malware.
This is not the first time that the Telegram founder has dragged WhatsApp for being prone to security issues. Earlier, Durov said that "WhatsApp will never be secure" unless the company makes some fundamental changes to it. But till then he advised people to stay away from the app to save their smartphones from being hacked.
Last month WhatsApp issued a notice about a bug that was patched in newer versions of the app. The “critical” rated security vulnerability would have affected WhatsApp's Android app and allowed hackers to remotely send malware on a user's smartphone during a video call.

India had launched an operation to bring home hundreds of students stuck in war-torn Ukraine under the name #OperationGanga. Let us find out more about this challenging operation. As Ukraine closed its airspace for civilian flights after Russia began its invasion, about 16,000-strong Indian diaspora, mostly students, were left stranded in the war-torn country. As students made appeals for evacuation from bomb shelters, New Delhi launched a multi-pronged evacuation plan named ‘Operation Ganga’ to bring home its citizens. Accordingly, Indian missions in Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Hungary have been making arrangements to receive Indian nationals from Ukraine and fly them out of their respective countries under Operation Ganga flights. The cost will be borne by the Centre. The government announced that four Union Ministers will travel to Ukraine’s neighbouring countries to coordinate the evacuation. Petroleum minister Hardeep Puri would go to Hungary, aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia to Romania and Moldova; law minister Kiran Rijiju to Slovakia and Minister of State for Civil Aviation VK Singh to Poland. The government also created a dedicated Twitter account named OpGanga Helpline to assist in the evacuation by sharing important advisories and instructions.
At the same time, the Union Health Ministry has revised the mandatory international travel guidelines for all Indians being evacuated from Ukraine, allowing them to board flights without a negative RT-PCR report or vaccination certificate. The travel guidelines have been revised on humanitarian grounds. देश में कोरोनावायरस महामारी से जुड़े आंकड़ों पर जारी चर्चा के बीच केंद्र सरकार ने शनिवार को एक बयान जारी किया। सरकार ने कोरोना से हुईं मौतों के गलत आंकड़े का दावा करने वालीं खबरों का खंडन किया है और कहा है कि ये निष्कर्ष महामारी विज्ञान संबंधी सबूतों के बिना, महज आंकड़ों के आकलन पर आधारित हैं। दरअसल, अंतरराष्ट्रीय मैगज़ीन दि इकॉनमिस्ट में प्रकाशित लेख में कोरोना से मारे गए लोगों के सरकारी आंकड़ें पर सवाल उठाए गए थे।

The Union Health Ministry on Friday said country has been witnessing a steady dip in active cases of Covid-19 with less than two lakh cased being reported daily since May 28. "There has been a consistent increase in recovery rate, currently at 93.1 per cent. There is also a decline in active cases from the last month. Where on May 10, 37 lakh active cases were recorded, it has declined to 16.35 lakh," Lav Agarwal said. More than 22.41 crore vaccine doses were administered so far under the COVID-19 nationwide vaccination drive.

The government on Thursday dismissed as "completely baseless" a recent New York Times report on Covid-19 toll in India, saying it is not backed by any evidence. At a press conference, the Union health ministry said the report is absolutely false and based on "distorted estimates". Dismissing the report, Health ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said, "It is completely baseless and absolutely false and not backed on any evidence."

Govt dismisses NYT report on Covid-19 toll, terms it completely baseless, not backed on any evidence

The COVID-19 positivity rate has declined from 24.83 per cent on May 10 to 12.45 per cent on May 22, the Union health ministry said on Saturday. Eight states have more than 1 lakh active cases while 18 states have over 15 per cent positivity rate, joint secretary in the ministry Lav Agarwal said during the briefing. The daily rise in coronavirus cases in India remained below the 3 lakh-mark for the sixth consecutive day, with 2.57 lakh new cases recorded in a single day, health ministry data showed.

Less than 2% total population of India affected by Covid, 98 per cent still vulnerable: Govt

With 3,43,144 people testing positive for coronavirus in a day, India's COVID-19 tally of cases climbed to 2,40,46,809, while the death toll rose to 2,62,317 with 4,000 fresh fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Friday. The active cases have reduced to 37,04,893 comprising 15.41 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 83.50 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.

India reported 4,01,993 new COVID-19 cases, 3,523 deaths and 2,99,988 discharges in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry. With the addition of new cases, the total number of cases have reached 1.91 crore while active cases stand at 32.68 lakh. There have been 1.56 crore recoveries reported so far while 2.11 lakh people have succumbed to the disease in the country.
