Wasim Jaffer Opines How India Can Improve Umpiring Standards

Indian cricketing legends, Sourav Ganguly and Virender Sehwag were guests on the famous quiz show, Kaun Banega Crorepati, hosted by iconic Indian actor Amitabh Bachchan. And, during the course of the show, both these legends opened up on a variety of topics related to Indian cricket.
Virender Sehwag revealed a secret about Sourav Ganguly as well during the show. Sehwag stated that Ganguly had the habit of asking his teammates to pack his kit bag before he went for the post-match press conference. However, the current Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President denied the same, and asked Bachchan to contact the likes of Yuvraj Singh, Ashish Nehra, Zaheer Khan or Harbhajan Singh regarding the matter.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is expected to name the team’s T20 World Cup 2021 squad on September 6 in consultation with the coaching staff and skipper Babar Azam. The tournament is set to be played in UAE and Oman between October 17 and November 14.
Tempers flared multiple times during India and England’s second Test at Lord’s, which saw many instances of players taking a verbal go at each other. It all started with an incessant bouncer barrage that Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah had launched against England’s veteran James Anderson towards the fag end of Day 3. Later, a frustrated Anderson was seen mouthing a few words as the teams went off the field.
Bumrah was meted similar treatment in return by Mark Wood when it was India’s turn to bat, which was when he was also involved in a heated altercation involving wicketkeeper Jos Buttler and the pacer Wood.

भारतीय टीम के तीनों फॉरमेट की कमान अब विराट कोहली के हाथों सौंपी गई है। विराट टेस्ट मैचों में पहले से ही कप्तानी के रुप में जिम्मेदारी निभा रहे थे लेकिन नए साल की शुरुआत में महेंद्र सिंह धोनी द्वारा कप्तानी से इस्तीफा देने के बाद वनडे और टी20 की कमान भी विराट को दी गई। उन्होंने इंग्लैंड को पहले 5 टेस्ट मैचों की सीरीज 4-0 से जीती। उसके बाद 3 वनडे मैचों की सीरीज में भारत ने 2-1 से रीजी पर कब्जा किया। अब विराट कमान की बारी है 3 मैचों की टी20 सीरीज पर कब्जा करने की।
दोनों टीमों ने 1-1 जीता है और सीरीज का आखिरी मैच कल बैंगलौर के चिन्नास्वामी स्टेडियम में खेला जाएगा। अगर भारत कल का मैच जीत लेता है तो विराट कोहली के नाम एक ऐसा रिकॉर्ड दर्ज हो जाएगा जो कप्तानी में कभी महेंद्र सिंह धोनी भी नहीं कर सके। आखिरी मैच जीतते ही विराट कोहली पहले ऐसे भारतीय कप्तान बन जाएंगे जिसने कप्तान के तौर पर लगातार अपनी पहली वनडे और टी-20 सीरीज में जीत दर्ज की हो।
भारतीय क्रिकेट के सबसे सफल कप्तान रहे महेंद्र सिंह धोनी भी यह रिकॉर्ड नहीं बना पाए थे। 2007 में टी-20 टीम की कप्तानी मिलने के बाद धोनी ने भारत को वल्र्ड चैंपियन बनाया। इसके बाद धोनी के कंधों पर वन डे टीम का भी वजन डाला गया। सितम्बर 2007 में ऑस्ट्रेलिया की टीम भारत दौरे पर आई लेकिन भारत धोनीकी कप्तानी में वो सात मैचों की वनडे सीरीज 2-4 से हार गया था।
