Bhumi Pednekar recently appeared in the comedy Thank You For Coming and the film invited some extreme reactions from the viewers. While some praised the film for its bold concept, some shamed it for that. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Bhumi spoke about the latter group of people and slammed them for the shaming. She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. The actress discussed the prevalent gender bias and how people never took offence when she was a part of such stories told from a male perspective. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi had raised the issue of plight of people residing in the Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), Gilgit-Baloch regions from the rampart of Red Fort on Independence Day, the issue has taken momentum and Modi has been receiving messages of gratitude. Now Modi government has proposed a Rs 2,000-crore package for people displaced from PoK living in India. According to sources, the J&K government has identified 36,348 such families which will get around Rs 5.5 lakh each. Refugees from Pakistan mostly from PoK have settled in different parts of Jammu, Kathua and Rajouri districts over a period of time. They do not have the status of permanent residents. The home ministry is expected to place the details of the package before the Cabinet for approval soon. State government has identified 36,348 such families which will get around Rs 5.5 lakh each.
