While going back to the period of turmoil for cricket in both India and South Africa,harsha Bhogle talks about the South African cricket team's tour in India of 1999 - 2000! The South African national cricket team visited India in 2000 for a 2-match test series and a 5-match ODI series. Mohammad Azharuddin was not willing to be the captain, but he had to maintain his captaincy for the first two test matches! Though India's renowned player, Anil Kumble, took the highest number of wickets and was also the Man of the Series, South Africa whitewashed India in the test series with Gary Kirsten scoring the highest run of 149! India gave it back by winning the ODI series with 3-2 as Sunil Joshi took the highest number of wickets and Sourav Ganguly scoring the highest runs of 285 in the entire series. Also, Sourav Ganguly replaced Sachin Tendulkar as captain for the one days. For India, it was a start as it welcomed great cricketers including Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Anil Kumble and M.S. Dhoni.

India is going to host T20 World Cup 2016!! In the last T20 World Cup, India reached the final and lost to Sri Lanka. India was also among the Semi-finalists in ODI World Cup 2015. Also, India won the last ICC tournament that it hosted. Man of the tournament that year, Yuvraj Singh, is back in the squad. One can only hope, what kind of excitement this tournament holds for us.
