Presiden Joko Widodo meminta masyarakat tidak meragukan komitmennya terhdapat Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM).
"Saya ini alumni UMKM. Keluarga saya masuk dalam kategori UMKM dan mayoritas pengusaha juga UMKM, jadi jangan ragukan komitmen saya terhadap UMKM" ujar Jokowi saat Rapimnas Kamar Dagang dan Industri (Kadin) di Solo, Rabu (28/11/2018).
Pernyataan Jokowi ini menanggapi polemik kebijakan relaksasi Daftar Negatif Investasi (DNI) yang sebelumnya mengizinkan asing bisa masuk 100 persen ke 25 bidang usaha termasuk UMKM.
Jokowi menjelaskan saat ini ada 62 juta unit UMKM dan memperkerjakan sekitar 116 juta orang. Artinya 80 persen tenaga kerja Indonesia berada di sektor UMKM.
Sementara itu Jokowi menegaskan belum menandatangani rincian aturan relaksasi DNI dan memastikan UMKM akan dikeluarkan dari relaksasi DNI.
