#Electricvehicle chargers are the next target for job creation in India. The Indian government has set a goal of installing 500,000 electric vehicle chargers by 2030, and this will require a significant investment in human capital.
Last year, global sales for electric vehicles increased by 60% worldwide and one in every seven passenger cars purchased globally was an EV. India's chip demand is growing at nearly double the global rate each year. By 2030, India semiconductor demand is going to reach $110 billion. So, by that time, it will be over 10% of global demand.
In addition to a massive domestic market, India has an ample pool of engineers, which will help the country attract foreign investors and overhaul the local electronics industry.
India will spend $30 billion to overhaul in the tech industry and build up a chip supply chain and is aimed at increasing local production of semiconductors, displays, advanced chemicals, networking and telecom equipment as well as batteries and electronics, said Gourangalal Das, director-general of the India-Taipei Association, the South Asian country's de-facto embassy in Taipei. Das said his country is looking to bring in more mature chips. These include chips made with the relatively less advanced 65-nanometer to 28-nanometer production technologies and are widely used in connectivity chips, display drivers, controller chips for electronic products and electric vehicles.

India does not have enough lithium reserves for manufacturing lithium-ion batteries and almost all electric vehicles in the country run on batteries imported mostly from China. “Lithium content in a cell is less than 4 percent (including electrolytes). So major portion of the cells for localisation. Usage of lithium-ion batteries in electric vehicles in the country are imported mostly from China. There have been at least four incidents of two-wheeler vehicles, powered by lithium-ion batteries bursting into flames. The question is what are Li-ion batteries, and how do they work? What caused these vehicles to catch fire? 90% of the world’s manufacturing of Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) is done in China. India doesn’t have a manufacturing facility for lithium-ion batteries and, as a result, all manufacturers import cells and battery packs. Indian original equipment manufacturers need government support for making lithium cells for the long term. Securing lithium supply could help in making batteries at a globally competitive price, with the potential to reduce the price of EVs. India is already the number one manufacturer and market for two and three wheelers in the world and, hence, this presents the opportunity to lead in the EV segment too. India has become one of the largest markets for electric vehicles. But it has not developed core manufacturing capability and has been a peripheral assembler where over 50% of the critical components have to be imported into the country for production. Replacing Chinese products is easier said than done, however, in the coming days, the import burden and technology dependence is going to ease in the coming days. The path breaking innovation by IIT-Delhi along with Indian technocrats for bringing Aluminium ion batteries could replace the Lithium batteries in the coming days.

भारत में चार पहिया डीजल वाहनों के मालिकों को बहुत जल्द केंद्र सरकार की तरफ से एक झटका मिल सकता है। ऑयल मिनिस्ट्री की एक कमेटी ने केंद्र सरकार के सामने एक प्रस्ताव पेश किया है। इस प्रस्ताव में साल 2027 तक देश में से 4 Wheelers पर प्रतिबंध लगाने की सिफारिश की है। बता दें कि कार्बन एमिशन को कम करने और ग्रीन एनर्जी को बढ़ावा देने के लिए सरकार ने पूर्व पेट्रोलियम सचिव तरुण कपूर की अध्यक्षता में एनर्जी ट्रांजिशन एडवाइजरी कमेटी गठित की थी। कमेटी में सरकारी तेल कंपनियों और ऑयल मिनिस्ट्री के अधिकारियों को शामिल किया गया था। जब तरुण कपूर प्रधानमंत्री के सलाहकार बनाए गए तो ONGC के पूर्व चेयरमैन सुभाष कुमार को कमेटी का अध्यक्ष बनाया गया।

The Tesla Roadster hit production in 2008 as the original electric vehicle to debut for the American automaker. It helped show that EVs could be carbon conscious and cool, helping pave the way for Tesla to develop and sell more practical and efficient vehicles.
Although it was a niche vehicle from a relatively unknown automaker at the time, The Roadster emerged as the first highway legal serial production BEV to use lithium-ion batteries. It was also the first fully-electric production vehicle to travel over 200 miles on a single charge.
Tesla ended up selling close to 2,500 first-generation Roadsters over the course of the four years it was in production. Small potatoes by today’s Tesla standards, but this Roadster remains the EV that put Tesla on the map and kicked in the door of an industry still very much focused on internal combustion engines. It remains a collector’s item for many as the original Tesla.
Used Roadsters remain coveted EVs and are still available on the used car market.
