समय समय पर इसको हटाने के लिये मुहीम भी शुरू की गई लेकिन सरकार और प्रसाशन के कानों पर जू तक नहीं रेंगती।
चुनाव के समय यह खत्ता राजनीतिक मुद्दा बनता है , तो आम दिनों में ये नेताओं के संघर्ष का विषय बन जाता है।
एक बार फिर भलस्वा लैंडफिल साइट पर स्थानीय लोगों ने खत्ते को हटाने की मुहीम शुरू की है , और बादली विधानसभा क्षेत्र के विधायक और पूर्व विधायक भी इस धरना प्रदर्शन में शामिल होते दिख रहे हैं ।
40 वर्ष पुराने इस मुद्दे को एक नये सिरे से उठाने की शुरुआत हुई है इस उम्मीद के साथ की ग़ाज़ीपुर लैंडफिल हादसे के बाद शायद सरकारें --- लाखों लोगों की ज़िन्दगी से जुड़ी इस जानलेवा समस्या के समाधान पर कुछ ठोस कदम उठाएगी।

जैसे जैसे निगम चुनाव की तारिख नजदीक आ रही है , उम्मीदवारों ने अपना प्रचार अभियान भी तेज कर दिया है। हैदरपुर वार्ड नम्बर -61 से कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी सिद्धार्थ 'निक्की' ने झुग्गियों में डोर टू डोर कैंपेन के जरिये जनसम्पर्क अभियान चलाया और लोगों से वोट मांगे।
झुग्गी झोपड़ी कॉलोनी में समस्याओं का अम्बार है और लोग निगम में भाजपा के दस साल के शाशन को अपने कॉलोनी की बदहाली के लिये जिम्मेदार मानते हैं।
ऐसे में लोगों को तलाश है एक सच्चे और ईमानदार विकल्प की। कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी सिद्धार्थ लोगों को भरोसा दिला रहे हैं की अगर झुग्गी बस्ती के लोगों ने उन्हें मौका दिया तो वो उनकी समस्याओं को सबसे पहले दूर करेंगे।

झुग्गियों के साथ साथ हैदरपुर वार्ड -61 के कांग्रेस प्रत्याशी , सिद्धार्थ राव पीतमपुरा ग्रीन अपार्टमेंट पहुँचे और घर घर जा कर मीटिंग की। यहाँ लोगों ने इस युवा उम्मीदवार का स्वागत किया और सपोर्ट करने का आस्वाशन भी दिया। यहाँ मुख्य समस्याओं बारे में बात करते हुए सिद्धार्थ ने अपार्टमेंट्स में रहने वाले लोगों के लिये अपनी योजनाएँ भी साझा की।
हैदरपुर वार्ड 61 से सिद्धार्थ राव एक मजबूत प्रत्याशी के रूप में देखे जा रहे हैं , लेकिन उम्मीदवारों की संख्या ज्यादा होने वजह से उनके सामने चुनौतियाँ भी कम नहीं हैं।
