The Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) is an Indian law that aims to prevent money laundering and the financing of terrorist activities. There are warnings against the vulnerabilities of the high-speed 5G telecom network, according to papers submitted at a key security meet, which have noted that it can provide an excellent platform for middlemen and agents for creating linkages for crimes such as drug trafficking, human and organ trafficking, money laundering and terror financing.
The papers, written by some Indian Police Service officers, were submitted at the just-concluded conference of director generals of police and inspector general of police attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Addressing the issues that arise along with such network systems, a few Indian Police Service (IPS) officers have submitted a report at a top cop's meeting. Warning against the many loopholes and vulnerabilities of the high-speed 5G network, the Police officials looked into several key security concerns.
The IPS officers who wrote the papers suggested that a reserved 5G bandwidth and highly secured equipment should be developed proactively for sensitive government-related communications and for military usage and only approved and authenticated firms with the least cyber risk or with maximum safety protocols should be allowed to work in for the government agencies.
The #5Gnetwork core is built on easily accessible and open Internet protocols such as HTTP and Transport Layer Security (TLS). According to a latest report, in H1 2022, the DC stock in India exceeded 9 million sq. ft. with a 600+ MW capacity in India. It is expected that the DC capacity will almost double by 2024, with more than 400 MW currently under construction across cities in India. Mumbai is expected to lead the supply addition, followed by Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi-NCR.
Mumbai led in terms of pan-India DC stock, accounting for a share of about 48%, followed by Bangalore at about 18%, along with Chennai (9%), which is now gradually becoming one of the fastest growing DC markets in India.
Together, these three cities accounted for nearly 75% of India’s DC footprint. In addition, Delhi-NCR, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata accounted for the remaining 25% of the DC market in India.
The report further states that hyperscale DCs majorly dominated investments during 2018-2021 with a share of about 77% – a similar trend was recorded in H1 2022. Moreover, investments in hyperscale DCs were majorly spread across the top states, with West Bengal leading with a share of 22%, followed by Uttar Pradesh (19%), Telangana (16%), and Tamil Nadu (8%).
On the other hand, more than half of investments announced in colocation DCs were across India, while the remaining half was split between the key states of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana.

It has been witnessed that there is an increase of 42% experienced insider breaches, which is up from 18% last year. The 2021 State of Operational Technology and Cybersecurity Report finds that operational technology (OT) leaders continue to face cybersecurity challenges, some of which were exacerbated by the shift to work from home due to the pandemic. The pandemic also accelerated IT-OT network convergence for most organizations, which correlates to other CEO reports that indicate pandemic-related changes have accelerated digital transformation, putting organizations years ahead of where they would have expected to be at this point. Facing the challenge of extending the plant environment to accommodate remote work, many organizations had to increase their technology budgets to support rapid solution deployment.
Seeking to benefit where possible from the many changes brought about by the pandemic, many OT leaders are looking for new ways to streamline processes and reduce future costs. Most OT organizations are not leveraging orchestration and automation and their security readiness was further taxed by the COVID-19 crisis. OT-IT network convergence coupled with an ever-increasing advanced threat landscape and coping with pandemic-related issues made it even more difficult for OT leaders to stay ahead of disruptive cyber adversaries. As per the report of Fortinet study highlights, OT leaders continue to see significant intrusions that affect the organization. Jio Chairman आकाश अंबानी ने 22 अक्टूबर को नाथद्वारा में 5जी सेवाएं लॉन्च करने का ऐलान किया। यह 30 साल के आकाश अंबानी का जियो प्रमुख के रूप में पहला बड़ा ऐलान माना जा रहा है। उन्होंने बताया कि Jio True 5G पायलट बीटा ट्रायल को चेन्नई और राजस्थान के नाथद्वारा में लॉन्च किया जा रहा है। बता दें कि रिलायंस इंडस्ट्रीज के बोर्ड ने उन्हें 28 जून को जियो का चेयरमैन नियुक्त किया था। उनकी इस नियुक्ति का ऐलान तब किया गया, जब मुकेश अंबानी के जियो के डायरेक्टर पद को छोड़ने की खबर आई। आकाश अंबानी ने राजस्थान में नाथद्वारा के श्रीनाथजी मंदिर में 5G सर्विस लॉन्च की। इसके साथ ही अब इस इलाके में यूजर्स को 5जी सेवाएं मिलनी शुरू हो जाएंगी। यह राजस्थान के राजसमंद जिले में है। नाथद्वारा में आकाश अंबानी ने श्रीनाथजी मंदिर में 5जी सेवाओं का शुरुआत करते हुए सभी को दिवाली की शुभकामनाएं दीं। आकाश अंबानी के साथ उनकी पत्नी श्लोका अंबानी भी 5G लॉन्च के समय वहाँ मौजूद थीं।
