पंजाब के पटियाला में ऐतिहासिक गुरुद्वारा दुःख निवारण साहिब में बीते रविवार की रात बेअदबी के मामले में एक महिला की गोलियां मारकर हत्या कर दी गई। यह घटना बीते रविवार की रात करीब 10 बजे की है। महिला पर आरोप था कि वह गुरुद्वारा परिसर में सरोवर के पास बैठ कर शराब पी रही थी। कुछ श्रद्धालुओं ने इसका विरोध भी किया और वो इस महिला को पकड़ कर गुरुद्वारा के मैनेजर के पास ले गए। मैनेजर के कमरे के बाहर ही उसे निर्मलजीत सिंह नामक एक शख्स ने गोलियों से भून डाला। बताया जा रहा है कि आरोपी निर्मलजीत सिंह हर रोज सुबह शाम गुरुद्वारा में माथा टेकने आता है। इस गोलीबारी में एक सेवादार भी घायल हो गया है। आरोपी निर्मलजीत सिंह पटियाला में ही प्रॉपर्टी डीलर है। इस घटना के बाद पुलिस ने आरोपी को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है।

'वारिस पंजाब दे' का प्रमुख और खालिस्तान समर्थक अमृतपाल पिछले 13 दिन से फरार है। पुलिस 18 मार्च से ही उसकी तलाश में जुटी हुई है। बीते बुधवार को अमृतपाल का एक वीडियो भी सामने आया। जो उसने खुद रिकॉर्ड किया था। इस वीडियो के जरिए उसने लाइव आकर सिख जत्थेबंदियों को सरबत खालसा बुलाने का आग्रह भी किया था। उसने यह भी कहा था कि उसका अभी तक बाल बांका भी नहीं हुआ है, वो एक दम ठीक ठाक है। इस वीडियो के जारी होने से पहले यह अनुमान लगाए जा रहे थे कि अमृतपाल किसी भी वक्त सरेंडर कर सकता है। जब से अमृतपाल ने यह वीडियो शेयर किया है तब से ही पंजाब पुलिस हरकत में आ गयी है और अमृतसर में हरमंदिर साहिब में सुरक्षा व्यवस्था बढ़ा दी गई है।

बीते गुरुवार यानी 2 मार्च को पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान ने दिल्ली में केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह के साथ मुलाकात कर राज्य की कानून व्यवस्था को लेकर चर्चा की। सूत्रों ने बताया कि सीएम भगवंत मान ने गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को 23 फरवरी को पंजाब के अजनाला में थाने पर हुए हमले से जुड़ी परिस्थितियों से भी अवगत कराया। आपको बता दें कि 23 फरवरी को अजनाला में 'वारिस पंजाब दे' के प्रमुख अमृतपाल ने अपने एक साथी को पुलिस की गिरफ्त से छुड़ाने के लिए अपने समर्थकों के साथ मिलकर थाने पर ही हमला कर दिया था। इस हमले में कई पुलिसकर्मी भी घायल हुए थे। इस घटना के बाद देशभर में पंजाब के लॉ एंड आर्डर पर सवाल उठने लगे थे।
अब सीएम मान और गृह मंत्री की मुलाकात के बाद पंजाब में केंद्रीय सुरक्षा एजेंसियों को भेजने का फैसला लिया गया है। सुरक्षा ग्रिड को मजबूत करने के लिए सीआरपीएफ और इसकी विशेष दंगा-रोधी इकाई के लगभग 1,900 जवानों को पंजाब भेजा जा रहा है यानी सेंट्रल फोर्स की 18 कंपनियों को पंजाब में तैनाती के आदेश गृह मंत्रालय द्वारा दे दिए गए हैं।

बीते गुरुवार को पंजाब के अजनाला में पुलिस थाने पर हुए हमले ने पंजाब सरकार पर लॉ एंड आर्डर की व्यवस्था को लेकर कई तरह के सवाल खड़े कर दिए हैं। यह हमला "वारिस पंजाब दे" के प्रमुख अमृतपाल सिंह की अगुवाई में किया गया। दरअसल कुछ दिन पहले पंजाब के रूपनगर जिले के एक शख्स वरिंदर सिंह के साथ मारपीट हुई थी और इसकी शिकायत अजनाला पुलिस थाना में दर्ज हुई थी। वरिंदर सिंह ने शिकायत करते हुए बताया था कि वारिस पंजाब दे के प्रमुख अमृतपाल सिंह और उसके कुछ साथियों ने उसके साथ मारपीट की है। इसी मारपीट की शिकायत के बाद अमृतपाल सहित 30 लोगों पर मारपीट और लूट का मुकदमा दर्ज किया गया और उनके एक साथी जिसका नाम लवप्रीत सिंह तूफ़ान है उसे पुलिस ने पूछताछ के लिए गिरफ्तार कर लिया।
