Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to lock horns with Mumbai Indians in Match No.55 of the 2021 Indian Premier League on Friday, October 8 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi. MI, captained by Rohit Sharma, are well and truly in race for the playoffs, but they need a win to qualify.
They also need to improve their net run rate, which is currently at -0.048. In their previous game, the Mumbai-based team thrashed the Rajasthan Royals by eight wickets after chasing down the target of 91 with 70 balls left. Ishan Kishan and the bowlers scripted the win for Rohit Sharma and Co.
The Sunrisers, on the other hand, must be high on confidence after beating the Royal Challengers Bangalore by four runs. For Kane Williamson and Co. pride is all they can play for. The Orange Army are assured of the eighth spot in the points table and they’ll want to end their campaign on a high.
Rohit Sharma has been pretty decent with the bat in hand for his team in this IPL. The right-hander is the leading run-scorer for MI this season, having notched 363 runs at an average of 30.25 and a strike rate of 16.92. Even in the previous game against the Royals, the Nagpur-born went after his strokes. The skipper will look to play another knock of substance on Friday.
