Bhumi Pednekar recently appeared in the comedy Thank You For Coming and the film invited some extreme reactions from the viewers. While some praised the film for its bold concept, some shamed it for that. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Bhumi spoke about the latter group of people and slammed them for the shaming. She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. The actress discussed the prevalent gender bias and how people never took offence when she was a part of such stories told from a male perspective. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her. She highlighted the hypocrisy of the situation that people accept objectification of women but have a problem with them talking about their sexuality. You can watch the entire conversation here.

With the IPL 2022 mega auction only a couple of days away, all the eight existing teams have named their mandatory player retentions and would be looking to start afresh ahead of the 15th edition of the marquee tournament. As all teams retained some of their players, they also made a big decision of releasing the rest of them who had either served their respective franchises for a particular year or a few seasons. Devdutt Padikkal‘s IPL career got off to a promising start when he was brought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2020 season. He announced his arrival right away by scoring a 42-ball 56 in his debut game. Padikkal finished the season with 473 runs in 15 matches. The youngster was also impressive for RCB in the 2021 season having amassed 411 runs from 14 games
Mohammed Shami has been one of the successful bowlers in IPL history, having registered 79 scalps from 77 matches ever since he had the first burst on to the scene at the marquee tournament in the 2011 edition. He has been one of the consistent performers for the Punjab franchise since they had roped him in 2019.
Trent Boult was roped in by the former champions Mumbai Indian for the 2020 edition and he was really impressive in that season as MI went on to win their record fifth IPL title. The mega auction of IPL 2022 is just around the corner. On February 12th, all 10 franchises will start their new chapters in the tournament’s history. However, the two new entrants- Ahmedabad & Lucknow will bid for the first time in an IPL auction.
Perhaps for the Ahmedabad franchise, they in total have to sign maximum 22 players at the auction table. Including the 7 overseas cricketers, they have to stack up a squad of 25 sturdy individuals. Therefore, maybe picking a few players from their predecessor franchise (Gujarat Lions) could be an exciting option to explore.
As a T20 batter, Jason Roy is a mega explosive package. For England, Roy epitomizes the skill of action-packed gameplay. In fact in T20Is, the cricketer also enjoys the best batting strike rates amongst his top-order contemporaries. Though in the IPL, the 31-year old possesses a modest record, his recent form will allure many franchises to bag him.
So far the Englishman has played 13 IPL games representing franchises like Delhi, Hyderabad and Gujarat. For Gujarat Lions, Roy had just played three games averaging under 30 with a thrilling strike rate of 147.50. Even his base price of INR 2 Crore adequately matches the value that the batter brings in.
Well, surprisingly Ishan Kishan wasn’t expected to become available in the mega auction. The youngster who exhibits multiple skillsets and utter flexibility was sure-shot believed to be seized by the new teams. However, the mega auction will again allow Gujarat Titans to sign this extravagant cricketer.
After bagging the likes of Pandya, Gill and Rashid Khan, the franchise’s next mission will be to fetch a premier overseas pacer. Just like all IPL teams, Ahmedabad will look to infuse an adequate pace battery. Therefore in such a quest, someone like DJ Bravo will smoothly come to the fore.
