Bhumi Pednekar recently appeared in the comedy Thank You For Coming and the film invited some extreme reactions from the viewers. While some praised the film for its bold concept, some shamed it for that. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Bhumi spoke about the latter group of people and slammed them for the shaming. She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. The actress discussed the prevalent gender bias and how people never took offence when she was a part of such stories told from a male perspective. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her. Globally, a total of 110.8Million accounts were breached in the second quarter of 2023, translating into around 14 accounts being breached every second. United States ranks 1st, with 49.8M leaked accounts, followed by Russia (15.3M), Spain (3.7M), France (3.4M), and Turkey (2.8M).
A 156% increase in breached users worldwide is seen compared to Q1 2023. North America was the most affected region by breaches in Q2 2023, followed by Europe and Asia. All other regions comprised less than 5% of the quarter’s total. The countries with the highest breach density (the number of leaked accounts per 1,000 residents) are US, Russia, Spain, Finland, and Australia.

Cyber threats in Healthcare Industry

The government has decided to step up its vigilance in response to China's repeated attempts at #cyberwarfare. Employees across ministries and public sector units are being asked to adhere to a standard operating protocol, which includes basic hygiene like turning off computers, signing out of emails, and updating passwords. The irresponsible behaviour by stakeholders and employees often exposes them to risks.
In recent months, there have been a number of cyberattacks on the Indian power grid and more recently the #AIIMScyberattack, which have been foiled by Indian authorities. Most of these attacks are believed to have been carried out by Chinese hackers who operate as "sleeper cells" using the computers of Indian users.
As per the report, official sources revealed that the AIIMS cyberattack is believed to have been the result of one employee not taking these precautions. Workers frequently fail to log off of their computers or sign out of their emails, and we suspect that this may have happened at AIIMS as well. It was a sophisticated ransomware attack. We have to wait for the outcome of CERTin and NIA (National Investigation Agency) before we come to any conclusion as to who is behind the ransomware attack.
Facing repeated cyberattack attempts from China, the government has decided to tighten its vigil. The government has a standard operating procedure in place to deal with these attacks, but has now decided to enforce it more strictly, and is considering action against employees who fail to follow it. A report from Norton says that India had faced over 18 million cyber threats during the first quarter of 2022.
A report from the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-IN) has estimated a 51% increase in ransomware incidents during the first half of 2022.
