अब कुतुब मीनार परिसर में नमाज नहीं हो सकेगी। भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण ने कुतुब मीनार परिसर में नमाज पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया है। भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण ने यहां पर नमाज पढ़ने वालों से अनुमति पत्र या इससे संबंधित अन्य कोई दस्तावेज मांगा था, जिसे वे लोग नहीं दे पाए। इसके बाद यहां स्थित मुगलकालीन मस्जिद में नमाज पढ़ना बंद कराया गया है। इस मस्जिद के बगल में ही कुतुब मीनार और कुव्वत-उल-इस्लाम मस्जिद है, इन्हें लेकर विवाद बढ़ने पर भारतीय पुरातत्व सर्वेक्षण ने यह फैसला लिया है। स्थानीय निगम पार्षद आरती सिंह इस बात की पुष्टि की है कि उनके लिखे पत्र पर कार्रवाई करते हुए एएसआई ने मस्जिद के अंदर नमाज पर रोक लगा दी है हालांकि इस रोक के लिए कोई लिखित रूप से पत्र नहीं लिखा गया है। निगम पार्षद ने बताया कि एएसआई के अधिकारियों से उनकी बात हुई थी, उन्होंने मुस्लिम पक्ष के लोगों को बुलाकर पूछा था कि कुतुब मीनार के अंदर मस्जिद में नमाज पढ़ने के लिए परमिशन की कोई कॉपी है क्या?
