Arvind Kejriwal Govt to pay CBSE exam fees for all students of aided, govt run schools
Arvind Kejriwal government and aided schools students will not have to pay any fees for class 10 and 12 CBSE examination and the cost will be born by the city dispensation, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia announced on Wednesday.
The decision was taken by the Delhi government following announcement of fee hike by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
ManishSisodia also said the government is in discussion with CBSE to rollback the fee hike.
On Monday, the board had announced that the burden of the fee hike will not be passed on to SC/ST students in aided, government run schools in Delhi as the state government will pay the board.
"Students in Delhi govt schools and aided schools will not have to pay any fees for CBSE Class 10, 12 exams. Delhi govt will bear entire cost for all categories of students, modalities being worked out,"

The Yamuna river breached the danger mark in Delhi on Monday evening, prompting authorities to evacuate people from low-lying areas.
According to a Delhi government official, the river was flowing at 205.36 metres, just above the danger mark of 205.33 metres.
The official said that the water level is expected to rise further as Haryana released 1.43 lakh cusec water at 6 pm on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that several teams have been formed to evacuate people living in low-lying areas along the river.

26% of the budget allocated towards education
Without any qualms, the Delhi government has made it quite clear that education remains one of its topmost priority. In the budget announced by the Minister of Finance of Delhi, Manish Sisodia on March 22 said, “Our government aspires to make Delhi an educational hub and has been working sincerely in this direction.”
A whopping 26.3% of the total budget has been allocated under budget allocation 2018-19. This makes education, the sector to get maximum share. As compared to last year’s allocation of 23.7%, this year the share has gone up by 2.6%. It is to be noted that the average of 19 states’ 2017-18 budget estimates towards education was just about 16.1%.
