मऊ जिले के नगर पालिका, नगर पंचायत और ब्लाक क्षेत्रों में अस्थाई पशु आश्रय केन्द्र का निर्माण किया जा रहा है। वही अपने पशुओं को बेसहारा कर सङकों और खेतों में खुला छोङ देने वाले व्यक्तिं को चिन्हित कर जुर्माना लगाने की कार्यवाही की जा रही है।
