യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയനില് ജനറല് ഡാറ്റ പ്രൊട്ടക്ഷന് റെഗുലേഷന് ആക്ട് നിലവില് വന്നു മണിക്കൂറുകള്ക്കകം ഫേസ്ബുക്ക്,വാട്സ്ആപ്പ്,ഗൂഗിള്,ഉള്പ്പടെയുള്ള കമ്പനികള്ക്കെതിരെ പരാതികള് വന്നതായി റിപ്പോര്ട്ട്.വിവര ശേഖരണത്തിനും അവയുടെ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും ഉപയോകതാക്കളുടെ അറിവോടെയുള്ള സമ്മതം വേണമെന്നാണ് നിയമം അനുശാസിക്കുന്നത്.സേവനം ലഭിക്കണമെങ്കില് പരസ്യ കമ്പനികള്ക്ക് വ്യക്തിഗത വിവരങ്ങള് നല്കുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു എന്നതാണ് കമ്പനികല്ക്കെതിരെയുള്ള ആരോപണം.അല്ലാത്ത പക്ഷം സേവനങ്ങള് ലഭ്യമാകുന്നില്ലെന്നും പരാതിക്കാര് പറയുന്നു.വ്യക്തിവിവരങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ ശേഖരിക്കണമെന്നും അവ എങ്ങനെ ഉപയോഗിക്കണമെന്നുമുള്ള മാര്ഗ നിര്ദ്ദേശങ്ങള് അടങ്ങുന്ന നിയമമാണ് യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയന് അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ഗി ഡി പി ആര്.യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയനില് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന വിദേശ കമ്പനികള്ക്കും ഈ നിയമം ബാധകമാണ്.ഇപ്പോള് ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പരാതികള്ക്ക് പരിഗണ ലഭിച്ചാല് കമ്പനികള് പ്രവര്ത്തന രീതികളില് അടിമുടി മാറ്റം വരുത്തേണ്ടതായി വരും. അല്ലാത്ത പക്ഷം വന് തുകയായിക്കും പിഴ അടക്കേണ്ടി വരിക.ഓസ്ട്രിയ, ബെല്ജിയം, ഫ്രാന്സ്, ജര്മ്മനി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് പരാതികള് ലഭിച്ചത്.
പുതിയ നിയമം നിലവിലെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഒരു പരിധി വരെ പരിഹാരമാകുമെന്നാണ് വിലയിരുത്തല്

യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയനില് ജനറല് ഡാറ്റ പ്രൊട്ടക്ഷന് റെഗുലേഷന് ആക്ട് നിലവില് വന്നു മണിക്കൂറുകള്ക്കകം ഫേസ്ബുക്ക്,വാട്സ്ആപ്പ്,ഗൂഗിള്,ഉള്പ്പടെയുള്ള കമ്പനികള്ക്കെതിരെ പരാതികള് വന്നതായി റിപ്പോര്ട്ട്.വിവര ശേഖരണത്തിനും അവയുടെ ഉപയോഗത്തിനും ഉപയോകതാക്കളുടെ അറിവോടെയുള്ള സമ്മതം വേണമെന്നാണ് നിയമം അനുശാസിക്കുന്നത്.സേവനം ലഭിക്കണമെങ്കില് പരസ്യ കമ്പനികള്ക്ക് വ്യക്തിഗത വിവരങ്ങള് നല്കുവാന് നിര്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു എന്നതാണ് കമ്പനികല്ക്കെതിരെയുള്ള ആരോപണം.അല്ലാത്ത പക്ഷം സേവനങ്ങള് ലഭ്യമാകുന്നില്ലെന്നും പരാതിക്കാര് പറയുന്നു.വ്യക്തിവിവരങ്ങള് എങ്ങനെ ശേഖരിക്കണമെന്നും അവ എങ്ങനെ ഉപയോഗിക്കണമെന്നുമുള്ള മാര്ഗ നിര്ദ്ദേശങ്ങള് അടങ്ങുന്ന നിയമമാണ് യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയന് അവതരിപ്പിച്ച ഗി ഡി പി ആര്.യൂറോപ്യന് യൂണിയനില് പ്രവര്ത്തിക്കുന്ന വിദേശ കമ്പനികള്ക്കും ഈ നിയമം ബാധകമാണ്.ഇപ്പോള് ഉയര്ന്നിരിക്കുന്ന പരാതികള്ക്ക് പരിഗണ ലഭിച്ചാല് കമ്പനികള് പ്രവര്ത്തന രീതികളില് അടിമുടി മാറ്റം വരുത്തേണ്ടതായി വരും. അല്ലാത്ത പക്ഷം വന് തുകയായിക്കും പിഴ അടക്കേണ്ടി വരിക.ഓസ്ട്രിയ, ബെല്ജിയം, ഫ്രാന്സ്, ജര്മ്മനി എന്നിവിടങ്ങളിലാണ് പരാതികള് ലഭിച്ചത്.
പുതിയ നിയമം നിലവിലെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള്ക്ക് ഒരു പരിധി വരെ പരിഹാരമാകുമെന്നാണ് വിലയിരുത്തല്
