The third and final ODI of the India tour of Zimbabwe is set to kick off in Harare on August 22. India have already clinched the series, winning the first two games. The visitors secured a comprehensive 10-wicket win in the first ODI, chasing a target of 190 as Deepak Chahar, after his return from an injury, picked up three wickets and won the Player of the Match.
In the second ODI, India chased a target of 162 in 25.4 overs with five wickets in hand. Shardul Thakur starred with the ball, bagging three wickets for 38 runs in seven overs. Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten 43 runs off 39 balls and helped India go past the finishing line. Zimbabwe would look to end the series on a good note and get a win on board.

As it was seen in the first two ODIs, the Harare Sports Club offered a lot of assistance for fast bowlers with swing and movement of the surface. Zimbabwe will be hoping for big performances from their in-form all-rounders Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams, who were sensational in the qualifier fixtures. They lost the three-match T20I series by 1-2 at home when Bangladesh traveled to Zimbabwe last year. Either they have shut down or have tried to be overly aggressive. As a result, the squad has struggled to bat through the complete 50 overs. Before announcing his retirement, even Kieron Pollard stressed the need for West Indies to bat for the entire 50 overs in the format.
The in-form India has defeated West Indies in the two teams’ last 11 ODI encounters, thus remaining unbeaten in the 50-over format. In terms of the bilateral series, India haven’t lost against the Windies since May 2006. South Africa, unlike the hosts, haven’t played any cricket since their T20I series against India last month, which finished 2-2, and will be itching to get back onto the field amidst a jampacked international calendar. They will be without their influential skipper Temba Bavuma, recovering from an elbow injury sustained against India. Keshav Maharaj will lead the side on his behalf instead.

After a not-so-successful T20I series, West Indies are all set to host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series, the first of which will be played on August 17. The visitors clinched the T20I series by 2-1 as the hosts saved themselves from a whitewash scare, but they will now look to bounce back stronger in the 50-over games to try and deny the visitors the ODI series win.
Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson has a good track record in the ODI format. He is just one maximum away from completing 50 sixes in this format and needs 47 runs to complete 500 runs against the West Indies. If he does so, he will become the fifth New Zealand batter to achieve the feat. Thus, all eyes will be on the skipper.
Martin Guptill, one of the finest players in the ODI format for the Black Caps, also has some good performances to show against Windies. The visitors are in a winning form as they’re backed with the T20I series win, which will prove to be very much beneficial when they walk into the ODI series. They would look to carry the momentum and dominate the hosts in the 50-over games as well.
West Indies, on the other hand, have not had a good time recently in the ODIs. They faced a second-string team India in July and lost the series 0-3 after a dismal performance. The third and final ODI of the India tour of Zimbabwe is set to kick off in Harare on August 22. India have already clinched the series, winning the first two games. The visitors secured a comprehensive 10-wicket win in the first ODI, chasing a target of 190 as Deepak Chahar, after his return from an injury, picked up three wickets and won the Player of the Match.
In the second ODI, India chased a target of 162 in 25.4 overs with five wickets in hand. Shardul Thakur starred with the ball, bagging three wickets for 38 runs in seven overs. Sanju Samson scored an unbeaten 43 runs off 39 balls and helped India go past the finishing line. Zimbabwe would look to end the series on a good note and get a win on board.

As it was seen in the first two ODIs, the Harare Sports Club offered a lot of assistance for fast bowlers with swing and movement of the surface. West Indies, however, haven’t been able to strike the correct balance in the 50-over format, when it is necessary to control the hitting and shift the strike in the middle overs regularly. Either they have shut down or have tried to be overly aggressive. As a result, the squad has struggled to bat through the complete 50 overs. Before announcing his retirement, even Kieron Pollard stressed the need for West Indies to bat for the entire 50 overs in the format.
The in-form India has defeated West Indies in the two teams’ last 11 ODI encounters, thus remaining unbeaten in the 50-over format. In terms of the bilateral series, India haven’t lost against the Windies since May 2006. But the English side won’t have much time to lick their wounds as a combative South African team visits the English shores for an ODI and T20I series followed by three Tests. The Proteas will engage in the first ODI of the three-match series on 19th July, Tuesday at the Riverside Ground.
South Africa, unlike the hosts, haven’t played any cricket since their T20I series against India last month, which finished 2-2, and will be itching to get back onto the field amidst a jampacked international calendar. They will be without their influential skipper Temba Bavuma, recovering from an elbow injury sustained against India. Keshav Maharaj will lead the side on his behalf instead.

After a not-so-successful T20I series, West Indies are all set to host New Zealand for a three-match ODI series, the first of which will be played on August 17. The visitors clinched the T20I series by 2-1 as the hosts saved themselves from a whitewash scare, but they will now look to bounce back stronger in the 50-over games to try and deny the visitors the ODI series win.
Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson has a good track record in the ODI format. He is just one maximum away from completing 50 sixes in this format and needs 47 runs to complete 500 runs against the West Indies. If he does so, he will become the fifth New Zealand batter to achieve the feat. Thus, all eyes will be on the skipper.
Martin Guptill, one of the finest players in the ODI format for the Black Caps, also has some good performances to show against Windies. The visitors are in a winning form as they’re backed with the T20I series win, which will prove to be very much beneficial when they walk into the ODI series. They would look to carry the momentum and dominate the hosts in the 50-over games as well.
West Indies, on the other hand, have not had a good time recently in the ODIs. They faced a second-string team India in July and lost the series 0-3 after a dismal performance. Before facing the Men in Blue, they had faced a clean sweep against Bangladesh who had defeated the Men in Maroon 0-3 as well. The visitors are backed by away series wins against South Africa and West Indies, two of the strong teams in international cricket. Bhumi Pednekar recently appeared in the comedy Thank You For Coming and the film invited some extreme reactions from the viewers. While some praised the film for its bold concept, some shamed it for that. In an exclusive conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Akash Bhatnagar, Bhumi spoke about the latter group of people and slammed them for the shaming. She expressed her disappointment towards people who didn’t criticise the film but its intent. The actress discussed the prevalent gender bias and how people never took offence when she was a part of such stories told from a male perspective. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her. She highlighted the hypocrisy of the situation that people accept objectification of women but have a problem with them talking about their sexuality. You can watch the entire conversation here.
