Indian tech industry clocked double-digit growth across sub-sectors adding $30 bn in revenues in FY 2022 and nearly 450,000 jobs. #NASSCOM Tech CEO Survey 2022 says, 72% CXOs expect 2022 to be another growth year driven by digital demand and higher investments in R&D; Resilience and Agility integrated in the industry business model. The Indian technology industry crossed the $200 bn revenue mark, reaching $227 bn revenue in FY 2022, witnessing a $30 bn incremental revenue in the year with an overall growth rate of 15.5%. Recording the highest ever growth since 2011, all sub-sectors of the industry recorded double-digit growth across. Exports (including hardware) recorded a growth of 17.2% clocking revenue of $178 bn which is over 51% share of India’s total services exports. India’s massive digital infrastructure played a key role in driving India’s tech adoption with public digital platforms becoming the bedrock of India’s digital advantage. Industry experts say, Fiscal 2022 has been a breakthrough year for the Indian technology industry. India has emerged as a global hub for digital talent with over 5 million tech workforce.
The industry recorded nearly 10% estimated growth in direct employee pool in FY2022E with a highest-ever net addition of approximately 450,000 to its employee base. With 1 out of 3 employees already digitally skilled, the digital tech talent pool is at 1.6 million, growing at a CAGR of 25%. With massive focus on reskilling and upskilling, the Indian tech industry reskilled approximately 280k employees in FY2022. With over 36% of women employees, the Indian tech industry is one of the largest private-sector women employers in India with over 1.8 mn women in the workforce. The actor behind Emotet is a hacker group known as Mealybug. Since starting in 2014 with the first and simplest version of the Trojan, they have turned their operation into a successful crimeware rink that provides Malware-as-a-Service (MaaS). The group achieved this by creating a botnet of infected computers on Emotet malware infrastructure, which they then sold access to. The botnet runs from three clusters of servers known as Epoch 1, Epoch 2, and Epoch 3. They rented this framework to various ransomware ventures, including the infamous Ryuk gang. The distribution mechanism of Emotet is through malspam. Emotet ransacks your contacts list and sends itself to your friends, family, coworkers and clients. Since these emails are coming from your hijacked email account, the emails look less like spam and the recipients, feeling safe, are more inclined to click bad URLs and download infected files. If a connected network is present, Emotet spreads using a list of common passwords, guessing its way onto other connected systems in a brute-force attack. If the password to the all-important human resources server is simply “password” then it’s likely Emotet will find its way there.
Emotet continues to be among the most costly and destructive malware affecting SLTT governments. Its worm-like features result in rapidly spreading network-wide infection, which are difficult to combat. Emotet infections have cost SLTT governments up to $1 million per incident to remediate. Emotet malware infiltrates computers through a network spreader component which consists of several spreader modules. A higher valuation could have been achieved but we decided to price it at a level where everyone makes money,” said Madhur Deora, group chief financial officer at Paytm, after the public issue. The stock was issued at Rs2,150, got listed at Rs1,950, hit a high of Rs1,955 and then went into a relentless decline. Paytm has its hands full with multiple business verticals ranging from payment gateway, consumer lending and various financial services, among others. She pointed out how Pankaj Tripathi and Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 was supported by the same people who shamed her film, when somewhere they dealt with the same subject. Bhumi revealed if not getting any support from women within the industry disappointed her.
