एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक रिलायंस जियो फाइबर-टू-द-होम (FTTH) ब्रॉडबैंड सर्विस को इस साल के अंत तक लॉन्च कर सकता है। रिलायंस जियो ने पिछले साल ही देश के कुछ शहरों में ब्रॉडबैंड सर्विस की टेस्टिंग शुरू कर दी थी। जियो के इस बीटा ट्रॉयल के लिए 4,500 रुपये की सिक्योरिटी जमा करनी होगी, जिसके बाद कंपनी की तरफ से 100 एमबीपीएस की स्पीड से अनलिमिडेट इंटरनेट डाटा दिया जा रहा है। इसके अलावा कंपनी की तरफ से एक खास राउटर दिया जा रहा है, जिसमें कई डिवाइस कनेक्ट किए जा सकते हैं।
एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक FTTH ब्रॉडबैंड सर्विस के लिए जियो पॉवर लाइन कम्युनिकेटर्स का इस्तेमाल कर रहा है। ये एक छोटा सा प्लग एंड प्ले डिवाइस होगा, जिसकी मदद से घर के दूसरे कोनों में वाई-फाई सिग्नल की ताकत बढ़ाई जा सकेगी। जियो के इस तकनीक में फिलहाल कुछ जगहों पर काम करना बाकि है, जिसको लेकर कंपनी लगातार काम कर रही है।

In its strongest action yet, the UIDAI has temporarily barred Bharti Airtel and Airtel Payments Bank from conducting Aadhaar-based SIM verification of mobile customers using eKYC process as well as e-KYC of payments bank clients. The action follows allegations of Bharti Airtel using the Aadhaar-eKYC based SIM verification process to open payments bank accounts of its subscribers without their ‘informed consent’. UIDAI also took strong objection to allegations that such payments bank accounts are being linked to receive LPG subsidy. UIDAI, in an interim order, “suspended e-KYC licence key of Bharti Airtel Ltd and Airtel Payment Bank Ltd with immediate effect,” sources with direct knowledge of the development said. This essentially means Airtel would not be able to, in the interim, carry out ‘electronic-verification’ or link mobile SIMs of its customers with their 12-digit biometric national ID Aadhaar though the efficient and paperless eKYC (or electronic Know Your Customer) process of UIDAI.
