Addressing the Congress workers at the AICC session held in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said that Congress has given this country the Right to Information and now Lokpal Bill to fight corruption.
In his address to Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said, the Lokpal Bill alone is not adequate to fight corruption. We need a comprehensive anti-corruption code in this country, Rahul Gandhi said. The UPA Government has developed a powerful anti-corruption framework consisting of eight new Central laws.
"This is not about one Bill, this is about a frame work and we want to deliver that frame work to the country," Rahul Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi also said that the opposition has stalled Parliament for years after years and that Congress party is committed to pass these bills in the coming sessions.

Rahul Gandhi talks to the future generation of leaders at Udaan, the national convention of NSUI at the Talkatora Stadium in the national capital. He credits them for playing a key role in mobilizing support for the landmark anti-corruption legislation of the Congress Party -- the Right to Information and Lokpal Bills. "Corruption can only be fought when the government's doors are opened, and this is what you have done," he said. Rahul Gandhi also said that the Congress Party would fight to promote youth leaders.
Rahul Gandhi congratulated the students for their achievements in the recent student elections and asked them to work with love and brotherhood to take the NSUI to greater heights. "I have been to many conventions but I have never seen this kind of energy. Some years ago we opened the doors of NSUI. Today, I feel that there is a complete new
generation of NSUI leaders," said Rahul Gandhi.

"People demand honest and efficient governance. We respond by getting the Lokpal Act passed. Everybody made a tamasha about it, everybody spoke about it. Who passed it? The Congress party passed it. And we don't stop there. We did not stop there. We gave you the RTI, we gave you the Lokpal," said Congress Vice President, Rahul Gandhi.

Addressing a public rally in Assam, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi said the peace and prosperity the region has experienced in the last few years is because of UPA government and efforts of a Chief Minister like Tarun Gogoi. He said there are two types of leaders -- one who gives power to people, and the other who extracts power from people. He said he believed in the former, and wants to empower the youth, women and tribes of Assam so that the state develops more and pushes India towards further development. Stressing on the need for inclusive development, he said its not the leaders who change the world but common citizens.
Giving credit to the women of Assam, Gandhi said the fruits of development being enjoyed by every native of Assam is because of the hard work and commitment of women. He said initiatives like Self help groups, infrastructural works like PMGSY, dedicated freight corridor, MGNREGA and RTI, together make a formidable front against corruption. He promised the Congress was determined to bring Right to Health.
