The Delhi government has sent 12 suggestions to regularise unauthorised colonies to the Centre, including the new cut-off date of March, 2019 for ownership rights instead of January 1, 2015 and allowing mixed land use, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said today.
Mr Kejriwal said the central government should allow registry of properties in these colonies at the earliest, relying on the satellite images to fix boundaries in unauthorised colonies.
Addressing a press conference, the chief minister said that in the first phase, 1,797 unauthorised colonies will be regularised and in second phase, rest of colonies will be regularised. "We have accepted all conditions of the Centre to regularise unauthorised colonies. We have also sent our 12 suggestions to the Centre," he said.
COMMENT
On Tuesday, the Union Housing and Urban Affairs Ministry said that it would issue an order to regularise unauthorised colonies in Delhi within a month. Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri termed as "incorrect" Kejriwal's claim that the Centre has approved the Delhi government proposal on the issue sent in November, 2015.

Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday announced that residents of unauthorized colonies in Delhi will soon have ownership rights of their land.
He said the central government had given approval to the Delhi government’s proposal and the state government will begin registrations in 1797 unauthorized colonies.
“There is good news for those who live in unauthorized colonies of Delhi. Their dream of living in a permanent house will now be completed. Before elections there were promises made to them and those promises were then forgotten by other parties. This time when our government was formed we had decided that we would get those living in these colonies their right," Kejriwal said while addressing a press conference.
Kejriwal said the Delhi cabinet had approved a proposal and sent it to the centre in November 2015. The proposal has been approved by the central government.

Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated the 2.85km long signal-free, Rao Tula Ram Flyover. The new flyover branches out of the Munirka flyover and ends near Subroto Park close to National Highway-8. Addressing the media at the inaugural event, Arvind Kejriwal said: “In 15 years, the Sheila Dikshit government built 70 flyovers. In the last four-and-a-half years, our (AAP) government has built 23 flyovers,”
He added:“We do our work, but we don’t advertise much. Now, it is for the people to spread word about the work we have done in the last four-and-a-half years,”
The Rao Tula Ram flyover or RTR flyover is expected to ease out the traffic flowing between Indira Gandhi International Airport and Gurugram/Gurgaon. The flyover will make it easier for the daily commuters from the neighboring areas like Munirka, Hauz Khas and Greater Kailash, who are tired of daily traffic jams and other issue
