राज्यातील पहिले सार्वजनिक वाचनालय म्हणून इतिहासात नोंद असलेल्या अहमदनगर जिल्हा वाचनालयाच्या सर्वसाधारण सभेत स्व. अनिल भैय्या राठोड प्रणित प्रगती पॅनलची नूतन विश्वस्त पदी निवड करण्यात आली आहे. निवडणूक अधिकारी म्हणून काम पाहिलेले निवृत्त जिल्हा सरकारी वकील वि स काकडे यांनी तांत्रिक मुद्द्यांच्या आधारे माजी नगरसेवक विक्रम अनिल राठोड व प्रा. शिरीष मोडक यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील पॅनलची बिनविरोध निवड करण्यात आली. विरोधी माजी नगरसेवक सचिन पारखी व मिलिंद गंधे यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील उत्कर्ष पॅनलच्या उमेदवारांनी उमेदवारांची यादी देतांना त्यांचा मतदार यादीतील क्रमांक आणि आधार कार्ड पॅन कार्ड अशी कागदपत्रे न दिल्याने त्यांचे पॅनल निवडणुकीतून बाद करण्यात आले व राठोड यांचे प्रगती पॅनल विजयी घोषित करण्यात आले.
विरोधकांनी या निवडीला विरोध दर्शविला असून ते याची तक्रार धर्मादाय आयुक्त व सार्वजनिक ग्रंथालय अधिकाऱ्याकडे करणार असल्याचे सचिन पारखी यांनी सांगितले आहे.
नगर जिल्हा वाचनालयाच्या सदस्यांची सर्वसाधारण सभा वाचनालयाच्या लोकमान्य टिळक सभागृहात सुरू झाली. वाचनालयाचे अध्यक्ष प्रा. शिरीष मोडक हे सभेच्या अध्यक्षस्थानी होते. यावेळी व्यासपीठावर प्रमुख कार्यवाह विक्रम राठोड, सौ . देशमुख, शिल्पा रसाळ, आदी उपस्थित होते. यावेळी विविध क्षेत्रात प्राविण्य मिळवलेल्या मान्यवरांचा सत्कार करण्यात आला. त्यानंतर मान्यवरांची भाषणे झाली.
कोरोना काळात वाचनालयाने खडतर काळ सोसला. पण आता वाचनालयाला आय कर खात्याचे जी ८० चे प्रमाणपत्र प्राप्त झाल्याने आता जिल्हा वाचनालय कॉर्पोरट फंडिंग आणू शकते तसेच जिल्हा वाचनालयांची नूतन भव्य वास्तू उभारण्याचा मानस प्रा. शिरीष मोडक यांनी आपल्या अध्यक्षीय भाषणातून केला.
त्यांनंतर विषय क्रमांक ६ अनुसार वाचनालयाचे नूतन विश्वस्त मंडळ निवडण्यासाठी सभेच्या अध्यक्षपदाची सूत्रे ऍड काकडे यांच्याकडे देण्यात आली. निवडणूक प्रक्रियेची घोषणा करताना निवडणुक लढविण्यास इच्छुक असलेल्या उमेदवारांनी आपले पॅनल तयार करून त्याची यादी माझ्याकडे द्यावी असे निर्देश दिले. तेव्हा विक्रम राठोड आणि शिरीष मोडक यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील स्व.आ. अनिल राठोड यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील प्रगती पॅनल ने आपली यादी काकडे यांच्याकडे दिली. त्यावेळी आपणास यादी करण्यासाठी १५ मिनिटांचा वेळ द्या

अहमदनगर शहरातील मार्केट यार्ड मध्ये मोकळा भूखंडावर अनधिकृत पणे बांधलेल्या गाड्यांमधून संचालक मंडळाने मोठ्या प्रमाणात अपहार केल्याचा दावा शहर शिवसेनेचे दिलीप सातपुते यांनी केला होता त्या विषयावर त्यांनी आवाज उठवत न्यायालयामध्ये दाद मागितली त्यानंतर अनधिकृत असलेले गाळ्यांचे बांधकाम न्यायालयाने पाडण्याचा आदेश दिला...
परंतु दोन दिवसांपूर्वी दिलीप सातपुते यांच्या विरोधात फुलांच्या व्यापाऱ्यांनी एक आंदोलन केलं त्यामध्ये व्यापाऱ्यांनी दिलीप सातपुते यांच्यावर आरोप केला की ते आमचे गाळे पाडून आमच्या पोटावर मारत आहे परंतु यावर बोलताना शहर प्रमुख दिलीप सातपुते म्हणाले की माझे आणि व्यापाराचे कोणतेही भांडण नसून मी सदैव व्यापाऱ्यांच्या पाठीशी आहे तसेच शिवसेना ही व्यापाऱ्यांच्या पाठीशी खंबीरपणे उभे आहे माझे भांडण आहे ते मोकळा भूखंडावर बांधकाम करून कोट्यवधी रुपयांचा उपहार केलेल्या संचालक मंडळाबरोबर त्यामुळे व्यापाऱ्यांनी केलेले आरोप हे खोटे असून व्यापाऱ्यांवर दमबाजी झाल्याने व्यापाऱ्यांनी घाबरून हे आरोप माझ्यावर केले आहेत असा आरोप शहर शिवसेनेचे दिलीप सातपुते यांनी केला
