Meta is working on artificial intelligence research to generate worlds through speech, improve how people chat to voice assistants and translate between languages, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, as he sketched out key steps to building the metaverse. Zuckerberg is betting that the metaverse, a futuristic idea of virtual environments where users can work, socialize and play, will be the successor to the mobile internet. The key to unlocking a lot of these advances is AI. Meta introduced ‘BuilderBot’ – “a new tool to fuel creativity in the metaverse using voice commands.” Another development is ‘No Language Left Behind’ – a system that translates all written languages. It has the ability to communicate with anyone in any language is a superpower that was dreamt of forever and it would instantly provide speech-to-speech translations for all languages. Project ‘CAIRaoke’ is the next conversational AI improvement for more fluid conversations between people and chatbots or virtual assistants. Sources said, Meta is currently building the world’s most powerful and fastest AI supercomputer.

#Meta has a patented technology to track people's eye movements and facial expressions while they roam the metaverse and body poses as well as create “virtual stores” that sell ad-sponsored digital goods in an effort to monetize the metaverse, dozens of recently filed patents suggest. The company was recently granted dozens of patents involving metaverse technology. It said that one of those patents detailed how sensors inside a headset would track a user's facial expressions to "adapt media content" for them. The metaverse refers to a future vision of the internet which people primarily access through immersive technologies including virtual and augmented reality, which require special headsets. Meta is a metaverse evangelist, rebranding from Facebook last October to reflect its mission of becoming a metaverse company. In an interview, Meta global affairs chief Nick Clegg said that metaverse eye-tracking data could help advertisers "understand whether people engage with an advertisement or not. While this wording is vague, one potential application could be that a user's virtual avatar would mimic their real-life facial expressions.
Meta uses biometric data in order to create a more realistic digital avatar using virtual reality or augmented reality. Meta also plans to collect data on users so that it could tailor specific ad content while they immerse themselves in the metaverse, the patent filings suggest. One patent filing shows a sketch of a “wearable magnetic sensor system” that the user places around their torso for “body pose tracking. Another patent can detect a user’s facial expressions through a headset. The system would then compute the expressions and “adapt media content” based on its findings. The company is essentially following the same business model that translated into tens of billions of dollars in profit through its social network. #Metas disappointing Q4 2021 results have put even more pressure on the social media giant to get its #metaverse experiment right. More than three years after the Cambridge Analytica scandal, Meta still falls short of a credible strategy on data privacy and misinformation and these issues will continue to dog the company as it enters the metaverse, says #GlobalData, a leading data and Analytics Company. As per GlobalData, “Meta has left several metaverse-related questions unanswered. These include how its advertising business model will work without relying on targeted advertising and how it can ensure consumer safety in this digital world. The flood of misinformation on its Facebook platform has tarnished Meta’s reputation, and it’s likely that online harm and harassment will only amplify in the metaverse. It is still unclear how Meta will reconcile the need to monetize the metaverse with the promise of building a privacy-friendly virtual environment. As on its flagship social media platform, targeted advertising will lie at the root of data privacy and misinformation issues in Meta’s metaverse.
Meta’s weak outlook shows that the social media company still bears the scars of Apple’s iOS changes. It will need to dismantle its platforms’ targeted advertising infrastructure and replace it with a privacy-centric one. At the same time, the company is investing heavily in the metaverse, particularly augmented and virtual reality technologies, which has impacted profitability.” A report says, a number of companies are discussing that the metaverse rose every quarter in 2021. Virtual and augmented reality, digital media, artificial intelligence, and mobile gaming were some of the metaverse-related themes discussed on 2021 earnings calls. ‘Metaverse’ largely appeared on transcripts and is a tell-tale sign of analysts also being more curious about investments

Meta is working on artificial intelligence research to generate worlds through speech, improve how people chat to voice assistants and translate between languages, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, as he sketched out key steps to building the metaverse. Zuckerberg is betting that the metaverse, a futuristic idea of virtual environments where users can work, socialize and play, will be the successor to the mobile internet. The key to unlocking a lot of these advances is AI. Meta introduced ‘BuilderBot’ – “a new tool to fuel creativity in the metaverse using voice commands.” Another development is ‘No Language Left Behind’ – a system that translates all written languages. It has the ability to communicate with anyone in any language is a superpower that was dreamt of forever and it would instantly provide speech-to-speech translations for all languages. Project ‘CAIRaoke’ is the next conversational AI improvement for more fluid conversations between people and chatbots or virtual assistants. Sources said, Meta is currently building the world’s most powerful and fastest AI supercomputer.

The company was recently granted dozens of patents involving metaverse technology. It said that one of those patents detailed how sensors inside a headset would track a user's facial expressions to "adapt media content" for them. The metaverse refers to a future vision of the internet which people primarily access through immersive technologies including virtual and augmented reality, which require special headsets. Meta is a metaverse evangelist, rebranding from Facebook last October to reflect its mission of becoming a metaverse company. In an interview, Meta global affairs chief Nick Clegg said that metaverse eye-tracking data could help advertisers "understand whether people engage with an advertisement or not. While this wording is vague, one potential application could be that a user's virtual avatar would mimic their real-life facial expressions.
Meta uses biometric data in order to create a more realistic digital avatar using virtual reality or augmented reality. Meta also plans to collect data on users so that it could tailor specific ad content while they immerse themselves in the metaverse, the patent filings suggest. One patent filing shows a sketch of a “wearable magnetic sensor system” that the user places around their torso for “body pose tracking. Another patent can detect a user’s facial expressions through a headset. The system would then compute the expressions and “adapt media content” based on its findings. The company is essentially following the same business model that translated into tens of billions of dollars in profit through its social network. · About this Image: This feature, which was initially unveiled earlier in 2023 and is now available globally to English-speaking users through Google Search, provides information about images, including their history, descriptions by users, metadata, and clear indications if an image is generated by AI. Google's AI-generated images are also clearly labelled.
· Fact Check Explorer: This tool allows journalists to verify images by tapping into information from independent organizations.
· AI-generated source descriptions within the Search Generative Experience: This feature provides original sources and insights from reputable publications, which are accessible through the "More About This Page" section in search results.
