വീല്‍ ചെയറിലിരുന്ന് ലോകത്തെ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടുത്തിയ വിഖ്യാത ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭൗതിക ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്‍ സ്റ്റീഫന് ഹോക്കിങ് അന്തരിച്ചു. എഴുപത്തിയാറു വയസ്സായിരുന്നു. ബ്രിട്ടണ്‍സ് പ്രസ്സ് അസ്സോസിയേഷന്‍ ന്യൂസ് ഏജന്‍സിയോടാണ് സ്റ്റീഫന് ഹോക്കിങിന്റെ വിയോഗ വിവരം കുടുംബം അറിയിച്ചത്.തമോഗര്‍ത്തങ്ങള്‍ സംബന്ധിച്ചും ആപേക്ഷികത സംബന്ധിച്ചുമുള്ള കണ്ടുപിടിത്തങ്ങളാണ് ഹോക്കിംഗ്‌സിനെ ശ്രദ്ധേയനാക്കിയത്. എ ബ്രീഫ് ഹിസ്റ്ററി ഓഫ് ടൈം അടക്കമുള്ള വിഖ്യാത ഗ്രന്ഥങ്ങളുടെ രചയിതാവ് കൂടിയാണ് ഇദ്ദേഹം.1942 ജനുവരി 8ന് ബ്രിട്ടനിലെ ഓക്‌സ്‌ഫോര്‍ഡില്‍ ജീവശാസ്ത്ര ഗവേഷകനായിരുന്ന ഫ്രാങ്ക് ഹോക്കിന്‍സിന്റെയും ഇസബെല്‍ ഹോക്കിന്‍സിന്റെയും മകനായി സ്റ്റീഫന് ഹോക്കിങ് ജനിച്ചു. മകനെ ഡോക്ടറാക്കാനായിരുന്നു മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചത്. എന്നാല്‍ സ്റ്റീഫന് ഹോക്കിങിന് ഗണിതത്തിലും തികശാസ്ത്രത്തിലുമായിരുന്നു താത്പര്യം.17-ആം വയസ്സില്‍ ഓക്‌സ്‌ഫോര്‍ഡ് യൂണിവേഴ്‌സിറ്റിയില്‍ നിന്ന് ഭൗതികശാസ്ത്രത്തില്‍ ബിരുദം നേടി. കേംബ്രിഡ്ജില്‍ ഗവേഷണ ബിരുദത്തിനു പഠിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനിടെ മോട്ടര്‍ ന്യൂറോണ്‍ ഡിസീസ് പിടിപെട്ടു. കൈകാലുകള്‍ ചലിപ്പിക്കാനാവാത്ത അവസ്ഥയും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ തളര്‍ത്തിയില്ല. സഹപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെ പിന്തുണ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ആത്മവിശ്വാസം പകര്‍ന്നു. ഗവേഷണ ബിരുദം നേടിയ ശേഷം 1965-ല്‍ ജെയ്ന്‍ വൈല്‍ഡിനെ ജീവിതത്തിലേക്ക് കൂട്ടി. എന്നാല്‍ 1991-ല്‍ അവര്‍ വിവാഹമോചനം നേടി.ലോകത്തിന് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടത് പ്രപഞ്ച രഹസ്യങ്ങളുടെ കാവല്‍ക്കാരനെ

22 Covid & non-Covid patients allegedly died following a 'mock oxygen drill' in UP. A viral video purportedly of a hospital owner in Agra has sparked a major controversy. In the video, the man is heard saying that he got oxygen supply from patients snapped for 5 mins. The man, in the video, added that this was part of an experiment to know who all will survive. Reports suggest the video is purportedly of Arinjay Jain, owner of Paras Hospital on NH 2. UP health dept has ordered a probe into the incident after the video went viral.
