Steve Irwin a.k.a The Crocodile Hunter was born on 22nd February 1962 to wildlife experts Lyn and Bob Irwin in Essendon. Steve has been working with crocodiles from the age of 9 under his father's guidance. He rose to fame due to his hit Television Show - 'The Crocodile Hunter' which aired on Australia TV in 1996, which he co-hosted with his wife Lyn Irwin. The Show was also picked up by popular channels like Discovery Network and Animal Planet. While filming for the documentary- 'Ocean's Deadliest', in 1996, Steve was stung by a stingray and was later declared dead due to the injury sustained. Many fans dropped flowers at the Australian Zoo to show tribute to the crocodile hunter. His daughter, Bindi, carried out the family's legacy by hosting her own wildlife documentary show called Bindi The Junge Girl.
