Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally in Arunachal Pradesh on March 18, 2014

Rahul Gandhi struck a personal cord with the people of Arunachal Pradesh during his public meeting in Ziro. He began his speech by greeting the people of Ziro in their language: "Ziro, Aya Doha". Describing Ziro as a place of immeasurable beauty, he said "There is no shortage of beauty here. The people are beautiful, the mountains are beautiful, nature is beautiful, the women are beautiful. Zero means that which can't be measured. Your beauty is immeasurable. That's why this place is called Ziro".

Rahul Gandhi expressed his anguish at the death Nido Taniam, a boy from Arunachal Pradesh who was murdered in Delhi. Rahul said, "Our party stands for unity among the whole country and that is the idea we stand for. We condemned the incident," said Rahul Gandhi. "India belongs to everyone: every caste, every religion, every community," he said. "We want to create such an India in which wherever you go, all of you feel that you will be welcomed with open arms," he said.

Rahul Gandhi said that Arunachal Pradesh has made a lot of progress since its formation. "Prime Minister Indira Gandhi made Arunachal Pradesh a Union Territory in 1972. It became a state under Rajiv Gandhi. Arunachal Pradesh has come a long way since then. Its literacy was almost zero, now it is almost equal to the national average," he said.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh on March 22, 2014

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh on March 22, 2014. "We are soon to face yet another general election. This election is a battle between two thoughts -- one that of Congress which is based on love, affection, brotherhood and inclusive growth; the other ideology is based on anger, hatred and of pitting one against another," Rahul Gandhi told a massive crowd.

He cautioned the people of being misled by the false propaganda of the opposition party. "We faced resistance from them during the land acquisition bill's passage. When a rich person sells his land, he gets to do so at the market price however when a poor farmer sells his land he doesn't get a fair price. This farmer bleeds and sweats for the country and fails to get a proper price for his land. The opposition tried stopping this bill at the standing committee level but yet we managed to pass it," said Rahul Gandhi.
Sharing the ideology and the vision of the Congress party, Rahul Gandhi promised the people of UP that the state will have unprecedented development when the Congress comes to power. He added that the ideology of the Congress is of love, peace and brotherhood and the BJP can continue dreaming about removing Congress from India. "They don't realize that the Congress party is not an entity, it is an ideology. Every person in India irrespective of their religion and caste has this ideology in them," he said.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally in Dibrugarh, Assam on March 27, 2014

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Dibrugarh, Assam on March 27, 2014.
Addressing a mega rally in Dibrugarh Rahul Gandhi continued his attack on the opposition. Rahul Gandhi said that BJP's big balloon of 'India Shining' had exploded in the past, and this new balloon of 'Gujarat Model' that the party has created will also burst, with more intensity than the previous one.
"BJP needs to realize that the Gujarat model will not work in the entire country. Under the BJP-AGP government, Assam grew only at 2 percent, with limited development, but under the Congress, the growth rate has been 13 percent. Every state is different and needs its own model to succeed," he said. "We want to empower you, which is why we have established 6 Autonomous Councils and 18 Development Councils and put power in your hands. The Centre has also established IIT, IIIT, NID, RGIPT, three medical colleges, and a Central University for Assam" he added.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally at Saharanpur on March 29, 2014

Addressing large public rally in Saharanpur, Rahul Gandhi condemned the harsh words used by the party candidate from Saharanpur and punctured the hollow claims of the opposition.

Attacking the opposition he said, "After two failed attempts, the BJP is making another sequel of the 'India Shining' movie called the Gujarat Development model. And just like in 2004 and 2009 when the people of India burst the 'India Shining' balloon, people will burst this balloon yet again."

Condemning the language used by Shri Imran Masood before he joined the Congress Party, some six months ago, Rahul Gandhi said, "This is not the way of the Congress Party. I will tell you what the way of the Congress Party is. In a recent rally, the opposition leader said about me, "He isn't even fit to become a driver". But we must not react with anger. We believe in the politics of love and we must defeat the politics of anger. We must fight against those who play the politics of anger and hatred and defeat them."

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra on March 28, 2014.

Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Nabarangpur, Orissa on March 31, 2014.
Speaking at a massive public rally Rahul Gandhi said, "Odisha has money, natural resources, forests and water. It is a rich state, but the people are poor. The state government takes your money and gives it to the industrialists. They don't use it for building schools for you, or providing education, health and jobs."
He added that the Congress led UPA government had made special allocation of funds for the welfare of tribal people, but the BJD government has diverted these funds to other things. "The job of the government is to help you. You should have a railway line. The water which should be used for irrigation is diverted for industrial uses," he said.

Rahul Gandhi emphasized that while the industry needs resources, it should not come at the cost of farmers and there is a need for balanced development.

Sharing the vision of the Congress Party that seeks to remove poverty from India, he asked the people to join the Congress in this fight. Expressing happiness over the presence of women in the rallies, he assured the women that the Congress Party will make full efforts to ensure 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.
