Rahul Gandhi addressing a Public Rally at Nabarangpur, Odisha on March 31, 2014
Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally at Nabarangpur, Orissa on March 31, 2014.
Speaking at a massive public rally Rahul Gandhi said, "Odisha has money, natural resources, forests and water. It is a rich state, but the people are poor. The state government takes your money and gives it to the industrialists. They don't use it for building schools for you, or providing education, health and jobs."
He added that the Congress led UPA government had made special allocation of funds for the welfare of tribal people, but the BJD government has diverted these funds to other things. "The job of the government is to help you. You should have a railway line. The water which should be used for irrigation is diverted for industrial uses," he said.
Rahul Gandhi emphasized that while the industry needs resources, it should not come at the cost of farmers and there is a need for balanced development.
Sharing the vision of the Congress Party that seeks to remove poverty from India, he asked the people to join the Congress in this fight. Expressing happiness over the presence of women in the rallies, he assured the women that the Congress Party will make full efforts to ensure 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally in Aurangabad, Maharashtra on March 5, 2014
Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Aurangabad, Maharashtra on March 5, 2014.
There he said, "I feel proud to be here in the brave land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Chhatrapati Shaahuji Maharaj and respected Bheem Rao Ambedkar." Rahul Gandhi talked about the growth of Maharashtra and said "Maharashtra is on the top developing states in the country with greater contribution GDP and maximum collection of FDI. You have more industries. Maharashtra develops fast because of its people. They work hard and your leaders are not wasting time on marketing."
"In the last ten years of the rule of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre, about 14 crore people could come out of the poverty. We could accomplish this historic achievement with the help of our policies like MNREGA, Food Security Act, loan-waiving scheme and by providing maximum MSP for farmers' crops. At present, there is a new class emerging - just above the BPL line but below the middle class. Our focus now will be to take this new group to the middle class category." he said.
Rahul Gandhi also mentioned that everyone is talking about India becoming super power. But India cannot be a super power until we ensure that the 50% of our population -- the women- is empowered.

Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally in Balasinor, Kheda Gujarat on March 11, 2014
Rahul Gandhi addressed a huge public rally in Balasinor, Kheda Gujarat on March 11, 2014.
Rahul Gandhi in his speech said the opposition was in the habit of opposing the people centric policies of the Congress Party, and subsequently trying to take credit for the successful initiatives. He said when the Congress ushered the IT revolution, the opposition in its short sightedness had claimed that technology would harm the youth, and take away jobs, but when the revolution became a success, the same opposition claimed that they were responsible for bringing computers to India.
"The BJP has been talking about eradicating corruption, and the progress that Gujarat has seen under its current leadership. But then why are there tainted ministers, who have been in jail still in power in Gujarat and Karnataka? Why is there no RTI commissioner in the state? And why has the BJP opposed the anti-corruption bills in the Parliament?", said Rahul Gandhi.
He said that the claims made by BJP, about the Gujarat model of development, are questionable. "They talk about Gujarat shining, but that is not true of the poor in Gujarat. Rs.11 defines the poverty line, children are dying of malnutrition, and land has been taken away from farmers. This is the same party that opposed the Right to Food bill in the Parliament because they thought it meant waste of money", said Rahul Gandhi.By Indian National Congress| 198 views

We will transform the lives of 70 crore people to ensure they live a proper life of the middle class." Rahul Gandhi Addressing a Public Rally in Arunachal Pradesh on March 18, 2014
Rahul Gandhi struck a personal cord with the people of Arunachal Pradesh during his public meeting in Ziro. He began his speech by greeting the people of Ziro in their language: "Ziro, Aya Doha". Describing Ziro as a place of immeasurable beauty, he said "There is no shortage of beauty here. The people are beautiful, the mountains are beautiful, nature is beautiful, the women are beautiful. Zero means that which can't be measured. Your beauty is immeasurable. That's why this place is called Ziro".
Rahul Gandhi expressed his anguish at the death Nido Taniam, a boy from Arunachal Pradesh who was murdered in Delhi. Rahul said, "Our party stands for unity among the whole country and that is the idea we stand for. We condemned the incident," said Rahul Gandhi. "India belongs to everyone: every caste, every religion, every community," he said. "We want to create such an India in which wherever you go, all of you feel that you will be welcomed with open arms," he said.
Rahul Gandhi said that Arunachal Pradesh has made a lot of progress since its formation. "Prime Minister Indira Gandhi made Arunachal Pradesh a Union Territory in 1972. It became a state under Rajiv Gandhi. Arunachal Pradesh has come a long way since then. Its literacy was almost zero, now it is almost equal to the national average," he said.By Indian National Congress| 193 views
Addressing large public rally in Saharanpur, Rahul Gandhi condemned the harsh words used by the party candidate from Saharanpur and punctured the hollow claims of the opposition.
Attacking the opposition he said, "After two failed attempts, the BJP is making another sequel of the 'India Shining' movie called the Gujarat Development model. And just like in 2004 and 2009 when the people of India burst the 'India Shining' balloon, people will burst this balloon yet again."
Condemning the language used by Shri Imran Masood before he joined the Congress Party, some six months ago, Rahul Gandhi said, "This is not the way of the Congress Party. I will tell you what the way of the Congress Party is. In a recent rally, the opposition leader said about me, "He isn't even fit to become a driver". But we must not react with anger. We believe in the politics of love and we must defeat the politics of anger. We must fight against those who play the politics of anger and hatred and defeat them."
