जम्मू कश्मीर के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री और पीडीपी प्रमुख महबूबा मुफ्ती ने आतंकी संगठनों में शामिल होने वाले स्थानीय युवाओं के पक्ष में वकालत की है. आतंकवादियों को ''भूमिपुत्र'' करार देते हुए महबूबा मुफ्ती ने कहा कि उन्हें बचाने का प्रयास किया जाना चाहिए. पीडीपी प्रमुख ने कहा कि जम्मू-कश्मीर में ''बंदूक संस्कृति'' खत्म करने के लिए केंद्र को आतंकवादी नेतृत्व से वार्ता करनी चाहिए
