8 PM to be the preferred start time from next year's IPL and more cricket news
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has informed the prospective broadcasters that it will prefer the start time of 8 PM for IPL matches from the 2023 season. The matches are currently commencing at 7:30 PM IST and the timings are advanced on the request of Star Sports, the official broadcasters for the last five years. The broadcasting rights are up for grabs for the 2023-27 five-year cycle and the BCCI has cleared its preference to the interested parties.
In the first 10-year cycle, the IPL matches used to start at 4 PM (on the double-header days) and at 8 PM. The current official broadcaster Star’s point of contention to start at 7:30 PM was the viewership soaring and at the same time, monetisation can be high. Accordingly, the timings of the afternoon matches also preceded to 3:30 PM.
“BCCI’s preferred start times for double-headers being 4 pm and 8 pm Indian Standard Time,” BCCI communicated to interested parties, who are willing to bid for the television and digital rights of IPL, according to Cricbuzz.
Meanwhile, the BCCI extended the last date for the purchase of the ITT document by 10 days up to May 20, 2022. “Pursuant to requests from various interested parties, BCCI has now decided to further extend the date for purchasing the ITT documents till May 20, 2022. The procedure for purchasing the ITT documents is laid down in Exhibit I.

Women are more worried on jobs compared to men
As per the data from LinkedIn ,based on the survey responses of 1,891 professionals from May 8 to June 4, findings reveal how the aftermath of the pandemic’s second wave has left Indian professionals — particularly Gen Z and working women — increasingly vulnerable to the economic uncertainty in today’s evolving job market. The report shows that ,India’s overall workforce confidence has declined after peaking in early March, with a composite score of +54 today (down 4 points from +58 in March). This dip in confidence is reflected strongly across professionals from creative industries such as Entertainment, Design, and Media & Comms, who expressed being uncertain about the future of their employers. But as several parts of the economy gradually reopen, professionals from Software & IT and Hardware & Networking are growing increasingly confident about the future of their organizations.
As India slowly begins to come out of the second wave of Covid-19 cases, we see the year-over-year hiring rate recover from a low of 10% in April to 35% at the end of May. The second wave worsens ‘she cession’; twice as many working women worried about availability of jobs, time for job-seeking compared to working men. 30% Gen Z professionals troubled due to lack of jobs, compared to 18% Baby Boomers. The pandemic’s recent peak in India has amplified the importance of work experience and professional connections, as young Indians were found twice (2.5x) as worried as their older cohorts, about the impact of COVID-19 on their careers. The survey reveals that, ‘Flexibility’ and ‘work life balance’ become as important as ‘salary’ and ‘benefits’ today. Meanwhile, this growing demand for flexibility comes at a time when remote opportunities continue to grow.

ഇന്ത്യന് കമ്പനികള് സ്ത്രീകളെക്കാള് കൂടുതല് പുരുഷന്മാരെ ജോലിക്കായി എടുക്കുന്നതായി പഠനം. ലോക സാമ്പത്തിക ഫോറം നടത്തിയ സര്വ്വേയിലാണ് കണ്ടെത്തല്. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ മൂന്ന് കമ്പനികളില് ഒരെണ്ണം പുരുഷന്മാരോട് കൂടുതലും താല്പര്യം കാണിക്കുന്നു എന്നാണ് ശരാശരി കണക്ക്. പത്തില് ഒരെണ്ണം മാത്രമാണ് പുരുഷന്മാരേക്കാള് സ്ത്രീകളെ ജോലിക്കെടുക്കാന് താല്പര്യപ്പെടുന്നത്.ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തൊഴില് ഭാവി’ എന്ന തലക്കെട്ടോട് കൂടിയാണ് പഠനങ്ങള് നടത്തിയത്. വലിയ വളര്ച്ചാ നിരക്കുള്ള ഇന്ത്യന് കമ്പനികള് പോലും 26 ശതമാനം മാത്രമാണ് സ്ത്രീകളെ ജോലിക്കെടുക്കുന്നത്.ഒആര്എഫുമായ ചേര്ന്നാണ് ലോകസാമ്പത്തിക ഫോറം സര്വ്വേ നടത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നത്. 770 കമ്പനികളുടെ വിവരങ്ങളാണ് പഠനത്തിന് വിധേയമാക്കിയത്. മൈക്രോ കമ്പനികള് മുതല് 25,000 പേര് ജോലി ചെയ്യുന്ന അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര കമ്പനികളുടെ വിവരങ്ങള് വരെ ഇതിനായി ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തി.11 ശതമാനം കമ്പനികള് മാത്രമാണ് സ്ത്രീകളെ ജോലിക്കെടുക്കണം എന്ന് പ്രസ്ഥാവിച്ചിട്ടുള്ളത്. 36 ശതമാനം കമ്പനികള് പുരുഷന്മാരോട് താല്പര്യമുള്ളവരാണ്. മൂന്ന് ശതമാനം കമ്പനികളിള് ഒറ്റ സ്ത്രീകള് പോലും ജോലിചെയ്യുന്നില്ല എന്നുള്ളതാണ് ഞെട്ടിക്കുന്ന വിവരം. 71 ശതമാനം കമ്പനികളില് 10 സതമാനത്തില് താഴെയാണ് സ്ത്രീ പ്രാധിനിത്യം.
