आज से 1400 वर्ष पूर्व कूफे की मस्जिद मे पैग़म्बर हज़रत मुहम्मद स0 के उत्तराधिकारी और दामाद वा तत्कालीन ख़लीफा हज़रत अली अ0 को अरब के पूर्व शासक उम्मईया वंश के वंशज माविया द्वारा सुबह फज्र की नमाज़ की अगुवाई करते समय माविया द्वारा भेजे गए एक हत्यारे इब्ने मुल्जिम ने ज़हर में ढूबी हुई तलवार से सिर पर वार कर के बुरी तरहां ज़ख्मी कर दिया था। इस जुलुस मे बडी संख्या में महिलाए पुरूष और बच्चे शिरकत कर हज़रत अली को पुरसा पेश करते है ।जुलूस के मद्देनजर प्रशासन ने सुरक्षा के पुख्ता इंतजाम किए, शासन प्रशासन के आला अधिकारी भी मौजूद रहे l
