"Level Up Your Gaming Experience: Top Gaming PCs and Monitors for Ultimate Performance"
The #gamingPC and gaming monitor market have seen significant growth in recent years, driven by factors such as the increasing popularity of #esports, the rise of streaming platforms, and advancements in technology.
A three-year growth streak for gaming PCs and gaming monitors came to an end in 2022 as worldwide gaming PC shipments declined 6.4% while gaming monitors declined 7.1% compared to 2021, according to the IDC.
IDC expects 2024 to be a year of recovery as 2023 will be marred with macroeconomic challenges, inventory issues, and lack of meaningful upgrades.
"Excess inventory carried over from 2022 is leading to discounting of older generation systems while also hampering re-orders of the latest generation of gaming PCs," says Expert. "The vast supply of add-in boards in the secondary GPU market further compounds the issue as it helps prolong the life of existing gaming desktops and surpasses demand for new systems.

India- at the cusp of Semiconductor WAR
To strengthen the #semiconductor supply chains, support the growth of semiconductor design and manufacturing on mature technology nodes and packaging in India, it needs to cultivate a skilled workforce.
In September last year, Foxconn tied up with #Vedanta to build a $19.5 billion chip-making facility in the western state of Gujarat. The joint venture applied for the Indian government incentives to set up a semiconductor fab, which is a plant that manufactures integrated circuits from raw silicon wafers, in Dholera, in Gujarat.
At the same time, ISMC Digital, a consortium of investors, is planning to build a $3 billion fabrication plant in the southern state of Karnataka. Tower Semiconductor, an Israeli company, would be the technology partner on that project.

India- at the cusp of Semiconductor WARBy VARINDIA| 147 views
Indian semiconductor Industry
The semiconductor industry in India is 100% import driven. Countries exporting semiconductors to India include China, Taiwan, the USA, Japan, etc. India has an advantage of designing chips. India is poised to emerge as a major player in 5G, semiconductor and chip technology, live sports, and AVOD with private deployment networks likely to take off in a big way during 2025-2028, according to Deloitte.
With the introduction of incentive schemes including Design-Linked Incentive, Production-Linked Incentive and others, startups dealing with semiconductor design & manufacturing have started to emerge. Today, over 90% of semiconductor leaders have R&D centres in India.
It has also projected the Indian semiconductor market to be worth $55 billion by 2026.The industry is poised to play an important role in enhancing the global value chain as it will expand to a market size of $85 billion and generate employability for 6,00,000 by 2030.
Satellite broadband and communication service market in India is expected to grow and expand with the developing use case horizon and exponential growth in data consumption, as per Deloitte's 2023 TMT (Technology, Media and Entertainment, Telecom) predictions.

The growing chip demand
When chip shortages first shut down automotive production lines in 2021, the #semiconductor industry found itself in an unaccustomed spotlight. Suddenly everyone was talking about the tiny chips that enable many different functions. When some high-tech and consumer-electronics companies began to experience chip shortages or voiced concerns about supply chains, the attention intensified. It’s now clear to all: We are living in a semiconductor world. Chip shortages have been aggravated by the pandemic and the confluence of problems has led to the semiconductor shortage.
Hello and welcome to VARINDIA news hour
India's chip demand is growing at nearly double the global rate each year. By 2030, India semiconductor demand is going to reach $110 billion. So, by that time, it will be over 10% of global demand.
In addition to a massive domestic market, India has an ample pool of engineers, which will help the country attract foreign investors and overhaul the local electronics industry.
India will spend $30 billion to overhaul in the tech industry and build up a chip supply chain and is aimed at increasing local production of semiconductors, displays, advanced chemicals, networking and telecom equipment as well as batteries and electronics, said Gourangalal Das, director-general of the India-Taipei Association, the South Asian country's de-facto embassy in Taipei. Das said his country is looking to bring in more mature chips. These include chips made with the relatively less advanced 65-nanometer to 28-nanometer production technologies and are widely used in connectivity chips, display drivers, controller chips for electronic products and electric vehicles.
The advantage of India is having a large number of engineers, natural resources for metals, gas and chemicals. For instance, India is the world's leading producer of sulfuric acid and ammonia, which, after being purified, can be used in chip manufacturing processBy VARINDIA| 143 views
Chip Manufacturers have increased production, still not able to meet the demand
We have been seeing the global shortage of semiconductors, the semiconductor industry found itself in an unaccustomed spotlight. Suddenly everyone was talking about the tiny chips that enable many different car functions, from interior lighting to seat control to blind-spot detection. When some high-tech and consumer-electronics companies began to experience chip shortages or voiced concerns about supply chains, the attention intensified. It’s now clear to all that we are living in a semiconductor world. A report says, there is a huge demand-supply gap, the global smartphone applications processor market grew 23% to $30.8 billion in 2021. But the current chip shortage is unlikely to be resolved in the near future, partly because of the complexities of the semiconductor production process. Typical lead times can exceed four months for products that are already well established in a manufacturing line. Increasing capacity by moving a product to another manufacturing site usually adds another six months (even in existing plants). Switching to a different manufacturer typically adds another year or more because the chip’s design requires alterations to match the specific manufacturing processes of the new partner. And some chips can contain manufacturer-specific intellectual property that may require alterations or licensing.
Sales are jumping as computer chips spread to every part of consumers’ lives, becoming essential components of products from cars to smart devices to clothing. Surging demand during the pandemic also resulted in a shortage. There has been rapid growth of the technology sector, and increased cloud usage, as well as ongoing consolidation in many sub-segments. One consequence is that the semiconductor industry’s profitability has improved significantly relative to other industries, and this trend is expected to continue. When we saw the statistics, Qualcomm tops the global smartphone apps chip market with double-digit growth. Qualcomm maintaiBy VARINDIA| 124 views
Japan has prioritised to revive the semiconductor industry
Japan is under great pressure to find solutions to revive its semiconductor industry, as the ongoing chip shortages and high semiconductor supply chain disruption risks remain major challenges for governments around the world. The world’s semiconductor race is accelerating. Used in every electronic appliance essential to our daily lives, semiconductors are critical to national security. Driven by competition between the United States and China, as well as a global chip supply shortage and supply-chain disruptions, governments around the world are pursuing aggressive funding measures to secure access to semiconductors. Japan is no exception – strengthening semiconductor supply chains is a key element of its latest economic security bill. The US is in the final phase of passing the CHIPS Act, which will provide $52 billion to subsidise semiconductor manufacturing. Following the US, in February 2022, the European Commission announced the Chips Act package, a 43 billion Euro investment plan to increase its market share of global production from 10 to 20% by 2030. South Korea is also seeking to pass legislation that would provide $450 billion in investment in semiconductor production over ten years. To develop an effective industry revival strategy, the Japanese government and domestic semiconductor players are now reflecting on why Japan's semiconductor industry has been losing ground to foreign competitors in the global marketplace.
According to Nikkei and Mynavi, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan has mentioned potential strategies to revive the country's semiconductor industry in its "Strategy for Semiconductors and the Digital Industry" released in June last year. Japan has made a three-phase strategy to revive the semiconductor industry. In response to the US-China trade war, governments around the world began pushing for semiconductor localization. Japan's METI has also come up with a three-phase strategyBy VARINDIA| 153 views

There is growing tension and bad news for the already-stressed #semiconductor chip industry. This comes at a time when chipmakers are struggling to keep up with the demand for chips across the computing and automobile sectors, among others. Experts predict that the Russia Ukraine war has the potential to constrain the supplies of neon and palladium – two critical components in the manufacturing of semiconductor chips. Ukraine is a major supplier of neon gas, which is used in the lithography stages of chip production. Sources said, Ukraine has a share of 90% semiconductor -grade of neon, a noble gas. The gas, a biproduct of Russian steel manufacturing, is purified in Ukraine, market research firm Techcet says. Russia is the source of 35% of the palladium used in the United States. The metal is used in sensors and memory, among other applications. This could lead to an increase in the cost of production of semiconductor chips. Both Russia and Ukraine are vital exporters of raw materials used in the manufacturing of Chipsets and semiconductors, with these chips being vital to all modern electrical devices, companies may decide to pass on these costs to buyers, leading to an increase in the prices of consumer technology products.
Europe faced one of its biggest security crises in decades, after Russia invaded Ukraine by land, air and sea. As per analysts, Russia is also a key supplier of neon and palladium – accounting for a third of the global supply of the metal. Palladium is a metal that is used for electronics, catalytic converters among other things. West’s sanctions against Russia could lead to a shortage of this metal and force manufacturers to scramble for alternative sources. Large chip companies said they expected limited supply chain disruption for now from the Russia-Ukraine conflict, thanks to raw material stockpiling aBy VARINDIA| 199 views
