Sources reveal that the big tech giants will be integrating #ChatGPT or similar technology into their search products, allowing people to get direct answers or engage in a conversation, rather than merely receiving a list of links after typing in a word or question. How will this change the way people relate to search engines? Are there risks to this form of human–machine interaction?


#ElonMusk was one of the first investors and backers of #OpenAI, which created ChatGPT. However, he now believes that it has become closed-source. AI is one of the greatest threats to the survival of humanity,” Musk said at the World Government Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, immediately after discussing the creation of ChatGPT.


The faster adoption of artificial intelligence models over the past few years has been faster than almost anyone expected. Some advances have left society scrabbling to adapt. Teachers are struggling to stop students using chatbots to write their essays, artists claim they are losing paid work to image-creating AIs and efforts are under way in some places to replace journalists with large language models.


Microsoft’s Bing uses ChatGPT, Google’s AI-powered search engine, Bard and now we are going to witness Baidu’s ERNIE Bot, will be available in March. All three companies are using large language models (LLMs). LLMs create convincing sentences by echoing the statistical patterns of text they encounter in a large database. Open AI has started off as an open-source non-profit, after investment done by Microsoft it’s now closed-source and for-profit.


Chatbots empowered by artificial intelligence can increasingly engage in natural conversations and build relationships with users.     Chatbots on popular social media platforms are driving the business online. In Asia Pacific, spending via conversational commerce could reach $290 billion within four years. Personalization and emotional engagement allied to total convenience comprise the next frontier of customer experience (CX). Companies that give customers an emotional connection outperform their competitors by 85% , while 80% of customers say they are more likely to do business with a company if it offers personalized experiences. Conversational commerce, or C-commerce, is the fast-growing engagement tool that can deliver what today's consumers want. Going forward, Chatbots will Drive 50% of Consumer Spending by 2025. As per Juniper research, conversational commerce channels are going to facilitate spending of over $290 Billion Globally by 2025, up from $41 billion this year 2021. Recently, Walmart also just announced the acquisition of conversational commerce tech, underlying the importance for brands to create more ways to serve customers. This represents a rise of 590% over the next four years. It predicts that communications platforms that provide the connection between brands and end users will be crucial in increasing the adoption of conversational commerce channels.



    This enables the retailers to expand their reach, whilst allowing a fallback on more established commerce channels. Conversational commerce leverages AI to automate retail transactions and payments through channels including chatbots, messaging and digital voice assistants. The pandemic shuttered many brick-and-mortar businesses and reframed consumer preferences, retailers adapting to conversational messaging trends to meet their customers where they are.     With the advent of LLM (large language models)-based chatbots and virtual assistants, customers can now interact with businesses in a more natural and conversational manner. This has been a significant step forward in providing a better customer experience throughout the customer journey. As a result, LLMs have become a go-to solution for companies looking to enhance their customer support, sales and marketing efforts.


    First came the large language models (LLM), and then came the chatbots, or LLM chatbots, if you may call them – the likes of ChatGPT, Bard, Ernie, Claude and others.


    The battle for AI supremacy has already begun, with OpenAI and Microsoft leading the race to develop next-generation AI models integrated across many products and services. This includes Bing Search, Bing Chat, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office 365. Similarly, Google has also started experimenting with its conversational AI chatbot, Bard, powered by its large language model, LaMDA. However, this is expected to be launched in a phased manner or accessible to select groups only.


    While Google, Microsoft, and now Baidu are at it, it is only a matter of time before others join the race, especially those who have already built large language model capabilities, including Amazon, Huawei, AI21 Labs, and LG AI Research, NVIDIA and others.


    This highlights the growing reliance on AI to enhance customer experience and streamline interactions. With chatbots becoming increasingly human-like in their conversations, there are numerous opportunities for businesses to use this technology to improve marketing strategies, deliver personalized services and generally drive efficiencies.


    LLMs influenced by ChatGPT can help organisations display their material to clients in a more engaging way by adding various conversational styles and content tones.

    Bots and chat make it easier for people to buy the way they want to, when they want to–and that should be the goal of any business. Chatbots help to collect and augment the data collected.

    Stephen Hawking and other scientists fear that as human developers improve AI, the capabilities of the bots will rise exponentially in an “intelligence explosion”. The bots already have capabilities that scientists thought would take 20 years to achieve. Despite glitches and anomalies, bots threaten to quickly achieve levels of intelligence several times higher than that of humans. Will such super-intelligent entities be content to serve inferior humans? Will they not seek to become controllers and not the controlled?
