Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Bill is set to be introduced during the upcoming Monsoon Session of parliament for consideration and passage.
The draft of the Bill, circulated for consultation by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in November 2022, was fraught with problems and was criticised both by transparency activists and those campaigning for the right to privacy.

Web3 lacks enterprise-level security solutions and there are new challenges of web3 that makes it prone to hacks. Central bank wants to ban cryptocurrencies
In India, it is estimated that nearly 15 million investors invest in #cryptocurrencies. India has a large crypto user base, a ban can also lead to users resorting to illegitimate means and black-marketing. The Indian crypto market has been growing at a healthy rate in the past few years and is estimated to reach $241 million by 2030.
Now the Federal Government is also coming out in support of banning digital currencies though it does believe that such a move would be effective only if there is a global consensus around it. The FBI noted that 244 people had already fallen victim to these fake apps.
Finance Minister #NirmalaSitharaman told the Parliament that the #RBI has expressed serious concern over the destabilizing effects of crypto currencies on monetary and fiscal stability of the country and suggested framing legislation to govern the sector. This leaves a bigger question mark on the virtual digital asset in a country that boasts the second largest internet market.
"Cryptocurrencies are by definition borderless and require international collaboration to prevent regulatory arbitrage. Therefore, any legislation for regulation or for banning can be effective only after significant international collaboration on evaluation of the risks and benefits and evolution of common taxonomy and standards," she said. Experts, policy makers and recently Internet and Mobile Association of India, has turned its back on advocating for crypto last week, citing regulatory uncertainty.
Going forward, even if the government wishes to ban cryptos, enforcement will be difficult given the way #blockchain technology works. To enforce a ban, authorities would have to develop a surveillance system that can locate a password or seed phrase. This may potentially end up creating a parallel economy.

A research from Ivanti, uncovered 64% of employees believe their experience with technology impacts their morale, but only 20% of the C-Suite put budget toward improving the digital employee experience, and only 21% of IT leaders prioritize end user experience when selecting a tool.
The report revealed that 49% of employees are frustrated by the tech and tools their organization provides and 64% believe that the way they interact with technology directly impacts morale. Conflicting views remain between C-Suite, IT, and employees when it comes to the future of work and technology's role in enabling the culture of hybrid work.
Globally the C-Suite's number one priority was employee productivity, with workplace culture and employee satisfaction falling further down the list. Furthermore, 62% of the C-Suite concede that leadership prioritizes profitability over employee experience. As employee experience continues to fall to the bottom of the C-Suite agenda, IT will continue to deprioritize it on theirs, with only 21% of IT leaders considering the end user experience to be the main priority when selecting new tools.
Experts say, the improvement of workforce productivity helps attract and retain essential talent, accelerates business agility and competitiveness, reduces operational costs, and drives organizational success and profitability. The Everywhere Workplace has forever changed employee expectations when it comes to where they work, how they work, and what device they work on.
The Digital Employee Experience should be a board level priority, and IT teams are poised to be strategic leaders in their organization to make it happen. The attack occurs when a threat actor adds a comment to a Google Doc (or any part of the Google Workspace). The target is mentioned with an @ sign. By doing so, an email is automatically sent to that person’s inbox. In that email, which comes from Google, the full comment, including the bad links and text, is included. Further, the email address isn’t shown, just the attackers’ name, making this ripe for impersonators.

SPPIN is incorporated in India to operate globally established e-commerce platform, Shoppe. The e-commerce brand Shoppe is owned and operated worldwide by SEA Limited, an entity incorporated within the jurisdiction of Cayman Islands with offices in Singapore. The founder is Forrest Xiaodong Li, a Chinese born, recently turned Singaporean citizen. SEA Limited is backed by Tencent, which owns approx 43% of class B shares.
As such no key business decision in SEA Limited can be taken without the approval of Tencent. Recently, Tencent Cloud Computing (Beijing) company limited is disclosed as a related party to SEA Limited in its annual reporting to the Securities and Exchange Commission, United States. Further, the disclosure also states that SEA Limited uses Tencent Cloud to store their data. At the same time, the privacy policy states that, Your Personal data and /or information may be transferred to, stored or processed outside of India. In most cases, your personal Data will be transferred to Singapore to be processed, where its servers are located. It logically states that the data which will be collected from Indian citizens by Shoppe through SPPIN will be stored and processed on Tencent Cloud. It shows how smartly the Chinese tech majors may have manipulated documents to meet the regulatory compliances.
