Amarnath cave is a Hindu shrine located in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The cave is situated at an altitude of 3,888 m (12,756 ft),[1] about 141 km (88 mi) from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and reached through Pahalgam town. The shrine forms an important part of Hinduism,[2] and is considered to be one of the holiest shrines in Hinduism.[3] The cave is surrounded by snowy mountains. The cave itself is covered with snow most of the year except for a short period of time in summer when it is open for pilgrims. Hundreds of thousands of Hindu devotees make an annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave across challenging mountainous terrain.
The Amarnath temple is one of 18 Maha Shakti Peethas, or "Grand Shakti Peethas" – highly revered temples throughout South Asia that commemorate the location of fallen body parts of the Hindu deity Sati.

ഈ ഗുഹയുടെ ചില ശാഖകള്‍ അപ്പുറത്ത് കരിങ്കടല്‍ വരെ നീളും എന്നാണ് ചിലര്‍ കരുതുന്നത് .
ഉറവകളും , നദികളും , വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടങ്ങളും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു വിചിത്രലോകമാണ് ഈ ഗുഹയുടെ ഉള്‍വശം ! പലയിടത്തും ജലം നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന ടണലുകള്‍ ആയ “sumps” ആണ് ഉള്ളത് . അതുവരെയും കയറില്‍ കെട്ടി തൂങ്ങി ഇറങ്ങുന്ന പര്യവേഷകര്‍ ഇത്തരം ടണലുകളില്‍ സ്കുബാ ഡൈവിംഗ് നടത്തിയാണ് അടുത്ത ടണലില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് . 52 മീറ്റര്‍ ആഴത്തില്‍ വരെ വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന “sumps” കൃബേറാ ഗുഹയില്‍ ഉണ്ട് ! ഇത്തരം കുഴികള്‍ക്കും ചെറു ഗുഹകള്‍ക്കും ഇടയിലുള്ള ഇടുങ്ങിയ ഇടനാഴികളെ meanders എന്നാണ് വിളിക്കുന്നത്‌ . ചില meander നു ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെ നീളം ഉണ്ടാവാം . മിക്കതിനും ഒരാള്‍ക്ക്‌ കഷ്ടിച്ച് ഞെരുകി മാത്രമേ പോകുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കൂ .
കൃബേറാ ഗുഹാമുഖത്ത്‌ കാക്കകള്‍ ആണ് നമ്മെ വരവേല്‍ക്കുന്നതെങ്കില്‍ അകത്ത് ചീവിടുകള്‍ ആണ് ഉള്ളത് (Catops cavicis) .

ഈ ഗുഹയുടെ ചില ശാഖകള്‍ അപ്പുറത്ത് കരിങ്കടല്‍ വരെ നീളും എന്നാണ് ചിലര്‍ കരുതുന്നത് .
ഉറവകളും , നദികളും , വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടങ്ങളും ഉള്‍പ്പെടുന്ന ഒരു വിചിത്രലോകമാണ് ഈ ഗുഹയുടെ ഉള്‍വശം ! പലയിടത്തും ജലം നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന ടണലുകള്‍ ആയ “sumps” ആണ് ഉള്ളത് . അതുവരെയും കയറില്‍ കെട്ടി തൂങ്ങി ഇറങ്ങുന്ന പര്യവേഷകര്‍ ഇത്തരം ടണലുകളില്‍ സ്കുബാ ഡൈവിംഗ് നടത്തിയാണ് അടുത്ത ടണലില്‍ പ്രവേശിക്കുന്നത് . 52 മീറ്റര്‍ ആഴത്തില്‍ വരെ വെള്ളം നിറഞ്ഞു കിടക്കുന്ന “sumps” കൃബേറാ ഗുഹയില്‍ ഉണ്ട് ! ഇത്തരം കുഴികള്‍ക്കും ചെറു ഗുഹകള്‍ക്കും ഇടയിലുള്ള ഇടുങ്ങിയ ഇടനാഴികളെ meanders എന്നാണ് വിളിക്കുന്നത്‌ . ചില meander നു ഒരു കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ വരെ നീളം ഉണ്ടാവാം . മിക്കതിനും ഒരാള്‍ക്ക്‌ കഷ്ടിച്ച് ഞെരുകി മാത്രമേ പോകുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കൂ .
കൃബേറാ ഗുഹാമുഖത്ത്‌ കാക്കകള്‍ ആണ് നമ്മെ വരവേല്‍ക്കുന്നതെങ്കില്‍ അകത്ത് ചീവിടുകള്‍ ആണ് ഉള്ളത് (Catops cavicis) .
എന്നാല്‍ ആഴം കൂടും തോറും ഇത്തരം ജീവികള്‍ക്ക് ജീവിക്കാന്‍ പറ്റാത്ത അവസ്ഥ ഉടലെടുക്കുന്നു . പിന്നീട് അങ്ങോട്ട്‌ ചില അപൂര്‍വ്വ ഇനം പ്രാണികള്‍ മാത്രമേ ഉള്ളൂ . കൃബേറാ ഗുഹയിലെ കൂരിരുട്ടില്‍ പന്ത്രണ്ടു തരം ചെറു പ്രാണികള്‍ (arthropods) ജBy News60 ML| 16369 views

A cloudburst incident has come to the fore near the holy Amarnath cave. According to preliminary information, many devotees got trapped in it due to rising water after the cloudburst. Five people have died in the incident, while many are said to be missing. Apart from this, some anchors and tents have come under the grip of floods. The injured are being airlifted for treatment. Thousands of people are trapped on the spot.
