നിഗൂഡതകളോട് വല്ലാത്ത പ്രണയമുള്ളവരാണെങ്കില് ഉള്ളുനിറയെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും അപൂര്വ കാഴ്ചകളുമായി റോസ്ദ്വീപെന്ന പ്രേതഭൂമി നിങ്ങളെയും കാത്തിരിപ്പുണ്ട്.
572 ദ്വീപുകളിലായി പരന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന ആന്ഡമാൻ നിക്കോബാർ ദ്വീപസമൂഹത്തിൽ 32 ദ്വീപുകളിൽ മാത്രമേ ജനവാസമുള്ളൂ.
എന്നാൽ ഇവിടെയുള്ള അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ ഏതൊരു സഞ്ചാരിയെയും അതിശയിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. അത്തരത്തിൽ ആൻഡമാനിൽ നിഗൂഡതകൾ മാത്രം ഒളിപ്പിച്ച് സഞ്ചാരികളെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരിടമാണ് റോസ് ഐലൻഡ്.
ഒരു ശ്മാശനഭൂമിന് സമാനമായ ഏകാന്തതയും നിഗൂഢതയും ചൂഴ്ന്നു നിൽക്കുന്ന ഇടമാണ് റോസ് ദ്വീപ്. പോർട് ബ്ലെയറിൽ നിന്നും രണ്ടു കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇവിടം ഇപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യൻറെ ആധിപത്യത്തിൽ നിന്നും മാറി പ്രകൃതി ഏറ്റെടുത്ത നിലയിലാണ്. ഒരു കാലത്ത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്നു ഇവിടം. അക്കാലത്ത് ലഭ്യമായ എല്ലാ വിധ സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ലഭിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇവിടം 1940 കളിൽ ഉണ്ടായ കനത്ത പ്രകൃതി ദുരന്തത്തിൽ പിന്നീട് ഒരിക്കലും തിരിച്ചു വരാനാവാത്ത വിധം നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. .തകർന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന ഭവനങ്ങളും കാടുകയറിയ കെട്ടിടങ്ങളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട സ്ഥലങ്ങളും ഒക്കെയാണ് ഇവിടെ ഇന്നു കാണുവാനുള്ളത്. 73 ഏക്കർ സ്ഥലത്തായാണ് ഇവിടം വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നത്. ഡാനിയേൽ റോസ് എന്ന് പേരുള്ള മറൈൻ സർവേയറുടെ പേരിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഈ ദ്വീപിന് റോസ് ദ്വീപ് എന്ന പേരുണ്ടായത് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമരത്തിന്റെസ്മരണകൾ ഇരമ്പുന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥലം കൂടിയാണ് റോസ് ദ്വീപ് . ഒരു കാലത്ത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ സിരാകേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന ഇവിടം ഇപ്പോള് ഒരു പ്രേതഭൂമിയായാണ് സഞ്ചാരികൾ കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലത്തിന്റെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളും പേറി നിൽക്കുന്ന ഇവിടെ ആൻഡമാനിന്റെ കാഴ്ചകളിൽ നിന്നും തികച്ചും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ കുറേ കാഴ്ചകളാണ് കാണുവാൻ സാധിക്കുക. ആൻഡമാനിന്റെ ഭരണ സിരാകേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന ഇവിടെ ഒരു ജനതയ്ക്ക് ജീവിക്കുവാന് വേണ്ട സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. മാർക്കറ്റ്, ബസാർ, ബേക്കറി, ദേവാലയങ്ങൾ, പള്ളി. ടെന്നീസ് കോർട്ട്, പ്രിന്റിങ് പ്രസ്, സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റ്, ആശുപത്രി, സെമിത്തേരി, സ്വിമ്മിങ് പൂൾ തുടങ്ങിയവയെല്ലാം ഇവിടെ തടവുകാരെ കൊണ്ട് ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഉയർന്ന റാങ്കിലുള്ള ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും മറ്റും ജിവിద్వారా News60 ML| 32 ఎంతమంది చూసారు

എന്നാൽ ഇവിടെയുള്ള അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ ഏതൊരു സഞ്ചാരിയെയും അതിശയിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ്. അത്തരത്തിൽ ആൻഡമാനിൽ നിഗൂഡതകൾ മാത്രം ഒളിപ്പിച്ച് സഞ്ചാരികളെ സ്വാഗതം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരിടമാണ് റോസ് ഐലൻഡ്.
ഒരു ശ്മാശനഭൂമിന് സമാനമായ ഏകാന്തതയും നിഗൂഢതയും ചൂഴ്ന്നു നിൽക്കുന്ന ഇടമാണ് റോസ് ദ്വീപ്. പോർട് ബ്ലെയറിൽ നിന്നും രണ്ടു കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്ന ഇവിടം ഇപ്പോൾ മനുഷ്യൻറെ ആധിപത്യത്തിൽ നിന്നും മാറി പ്രകൃതി ഏറ്റെടുത്ത നിലയിലാണ്. ഒരു കാലത്ത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ കേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്നു ഇവിടം. അക്കാലത്ത് ലഭ്യമായ എല്ലാ വിധ സൗകര്യങ്ങളും ലഭിച്ചിരുന്ന ഇവിടം 1940 കളിൽ ഉണ്ടായ കനത്ത പ്രകൃതി ദുരന്തത്തിൽ പിന്നീട് ഒരിക്കലും തിരിച്ചു വരാനാവാത്ത വിധം നശിപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയായിരുന്നു. .തകർന്നു കിടക്കുന്ന ഭവനങ്ങളും കാടുകയറിയ കെട്ടിടങ്ങളും ഉപേക്ഷിക്കപ്പെട്ട സ്ഥലങ്ങളും ഒക്കെയാണ് ഇവിടെ ഇന്നു കാണുവാനുള്ളത്. 73 ഏക്കർ സ്ഥലത്തായാണ് ഇവിടം വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നത്. ഡാനിയേൽ റോസ് എന്ന് പേരുള്ള മറൈൻ സർവേയറുടെ പേരിൽ നിന്നാണ് ഈ ദ്വീപിന് റോസ് ദ്വീപ് എന്ന പേരുണ്ടായത് ഇന്ത്യയുടെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യ സമരത്തിന്റെസ്മരണകൾ ഇരമ്പുന്ന ഒരു സ്ഥലം കൂടിയാണ് റോസ് ദ്വീപ് . ഒരു കാലത്ത് ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഭരണത്തിന്റെ സിരാകേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന ഇവിടം ഇപ്പോള് ഒരു പ്രേതഭൂമിയായാണ് സഞ്ചാരികൾ കണക്കാക്കുന്നത്. കഴിഞ്ഞ കാലത്തിന്റെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളും പേറി നിൽക്കുന്ന ഇവിടെ ആൻഡമാനിന്റെ കാഴ്ചകളിൽ നിന്നും തികച്ചും വ്യത്യസ്തമായ കുറേ കാഴ്ചകളാണ് കാണുവാൻ സാധിക്കുക. ആൻഡമാനിന്റെ ഭരണ സിരാകേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന ഇവിടെ ഒരു ജനതയ്ക്ക് ജീവിക്കുവാന് വേണ്ട സൗകര്യങ്ങൾ എല്ലാം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. മാർക്കറ്റ്, ബസാർ, ബേക്കറി, ദേവാലയങ്ങൾ, പള്ളി. ടെന്നീസ് കോർട്ട്, പ്രിന്റിങ് പ്രസ്, സെക്രട്ടറിയേറ്റ്, ആശുപത്രി, സെമിത്തേരി, സ്വിമ്മിങ് പൂൾ തുടങ്ങിയവയെല്ലാം ഇവിടെ തടവുകാരെ കൊണ്ട് ഒരുക്കിയിരുന്നു. ഉയർന്ന റാങ്കിലുള്ള ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരും മറ്റും ജിവിద్వారా News60 ML| 32 ఎంతమంది చూసారు
