JK govt orders probe after Jhelum embankment caves in
The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered a probe after a large chunk of an embankment on river Jhelum in Srinagar caved in triggering panic among city residents.
Minister for Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Javaid Mustafa Mir, has asked Kashmir's Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmed Khan to probe the reasons behind the collapse of the part of the embankment at Lasjan yesterday, the official spokesman said.
Mir assured if anyone is found guilty or negligent in the inquiry report, the person would be brought to book.

യാത്രകള്‍ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നവര്‍ക്കായി ഒരു സ്ഥലം...രണ്ടായിരം വര്‍ഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള സംസകാരത്തിലെക്ക് ഒരു തിരിഞ്ഞു നോട്ടവും.21-ാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിൽ നിന്നും പിന്നിലേക്ക് ഒരു സഞ്ചാരം നടത്തിയത് പോലെ ഉണ്ടാകും മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ പൂനെ ജില്ലയിൽ ലോനെവാലയ്ക്കു സമീപമാണ് ഭജെ ഗുഹകളില്‍ കൂടെ ഉള്ള യാത്ര.മലയുടെ മുകളിൽ നിന്നും 120 മീറ്റർ ഉയരത്തില്‍ കല്ലിൽ കൊത്തിയ 22 ഗുഹകൾ ഇവിടെ കാണാം.രണ്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടിലാണ് ഇത് ഇവിടെ നിർമ്മിച്ചതെന്നാണ് കരുതപ്പെടുന്നത്.
ബുദ്ധമതത്തിന്റെ അടയാളങ്ങൾ പേറുന്ന ഗുഹാ സമുച്ചയമാണ് ഭജെ ഗുഹകൾ.ബുദ്ധമതത്തിന്റെ തന്നെ മറ്റൊരു വിഭാഗമായിരുന്ന ഹിനയാന ബുദ്ധമതത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു ഈ ഗുഹ. അജന്തയിലും കാർലയിലും കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള ഗുഹകളോട് ഏറ സാമ്യം തോന്നിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഭജെ ഗുഹകളും.അറബിക്കടലിൽ നിന്നും ഡെക്കാൻ പീഠഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന രണ്ടായിരം വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള വ്യാപാര പാതയും ഡെക്കാൻ പീഠഭൂമിയേയും കൊങ്കൺ കടൽത്തീരങ്ങളെയും തമ്മിൽ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മലയിടുക്കും ഒക്ക ചേരുന്ന ഇവിടം ചരിത്രം തേടുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. അതിമനോഹരമായ വാസ്തുവിദ്യയും ചുവർചിത്രങ്ങളും കൊത്തുപണികളും ഒക്കെ ഇവിടുത്തെ ഗുഹകളിൽ കാണുവാൻ സാധിക്കും. കാലങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പേ സംഗീതത്തിനും കലയ്ക്കും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രാധാന്യം ഈ ഗുഹകളിലെ കൊത്തു പണികളില്‍ നിന്നും വ്യക്തംبذریعے News60 ML| 543 نظٓارہ

ഒരൊറ്റ വലിയ മലയിൽ നിന്നും 29 ഗുഹകൾ നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു അതാണ് അജന്ത ഗുഹകൾ.മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ ഔറംഗബാദ് ജില്ലയിലെ അജന്തയിൽ ബി.സി.ഇ. രണ്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടു മുതൽ എ.ഡി. ഏഴാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടു വരേയുള്ള കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ പലപ്പോഴായി കരിങ്കല്ലിൽ കൊത്തിയെടുത്ത ഗുഹാക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളാണ്‌ അജന്ത ഗുഹകൾ . ഒരു വലിയ കരിങ്കല്ലിന്റെ മല അങ്ങിനെ തന്നെ ക്ഷേത്രമാക്കി മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു. ഈ ഗുഹകളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ചിത്രങ്ങളും ശില്പങ്ങളും ബുദ്ധമതകലയുടെ മകുടോദാഹരണമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 1983 മുതൽ അജന്ത ഗുഹകളെ യുനെസ്കോയുടെ ലോകപൈതൃകകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1817-ൽ ഹൈദരാബാദ് നൈസാമിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിൽ സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിരുന്ന ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പടയാളികളാണ് ഈ ഗുഹ ആദ്യമായി കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്. പലതരം ക്ഷുദ്രജീവികളുടെ ആവാസ കേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന ഇവിടം പിന്നീട് പുരാവസ്തു ഗവേഷകരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ പെട്ട ശേഷമാണ് ഇന്നു കാണുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയെടുത്തത്. 1829-ൽ ഫെർഗൂസൻ എന്ന പുരാവസ്തു ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞൻ ഇവിടം സന്ദർശിക്കുകയും ഗവേഷണങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുകയുമുണ്ടായി. ഇദ്ദേഹമാണ് അന്നത്തെ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവണ്മെന്റിനെ ഈഗുഹാചിത്രങ്ങളുഉടെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെ കുറിച്ച് ആദ്യമായി അറിയിക്കുന്നത്. ചരിത്രകാരന്മാര്‍ പറയുന്നത് ഒരു വലിയ മലയെ മുകളില്‍ നിന്നും തുരന്നു താഴേക്ക്‌ വന്നു കൊണ്ട് ക്ഷേത്രം നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ്. അവിടെയുള്ള ഒരു തൂണിനു മാത്രം ഉയരം 100 അടിയുണ്ട്. ചരിത്രകാരന്മാര്‍ക്കും പുരാവസ്തു ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്‍മാര്‍ക്കും ഇന്നും ഉത്തരം കിട്ടാത്ത ഒരു കാര്യമാണ് എങ്ങിനെ അതിനുള്ളില്‍ നിന്നും ഇത്രയധികം കല്ല്‌ തുരന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ട് പോയി എന്നത്.ഏകദേശം നൂറോളം അടി താഴ്ചയിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള 29 ഗുഹകൾ അജന്തയിലുണ്ട്. ഇതിൽ എട്ടെണ്ണം അപൂർണമാണ്. ഇവ നിലത്തു നിന്ന് പണിതിയർത്തിയ നിർമ്മിതികൾ അല്ല. വലിയ പർവതങ്ങൾ, അവയുടെ പാറകൾ വശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് തുരന്നാണ് നിർമ്മാണം. വലിയ കൽതൂണുകൾകൊണ്ട് ക്ഷേത്ര ഗോപുരങ്ങൾ താങ്ങിനിർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ചില ഗുഹകളുടെ മുകൾഭാഗം പരന്നതും ചിലതിന്റേത് കമാനാകൃതിയിലുമാണ്. രണ്ടുതരം നിർമ്മിതികൾ ഈ ഗുഹാ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ട്. ഒന്ന് പ്രാർത്ഥനക്കായി നിർമ്മിച്ചവയും, മറ്റൊന്ന് ബുദ്ധഭിക്ഷുക്കൾക്ക് താമസത്തിനുള്ളവയും. പ്രാർത്ഥനക്കായി നിർമ്മിച്ചവയിൽ ഓരോന്നിലും ബുദ്ധപبذریعے News60 ML| 82 نظٓارہ

ബുദ്ധമതത്തിന്റെ അടയാളങ്ങൾ പേറുന്ന ഗുഹാ സമുച്ചയമാണ് ഭജെ ഗുഹകൾ.ബുദ്ധമതത്തിന്റെ തന്നെ മറ്റൊരു വിഭാഗമായിരുന്ന ഹിനയാന ബുദ്ധമതത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായിരുന്നു ഈ ഗുഹ. അജന്തയിലും കാർലയിലും കണ്ടെത്തിയിട്ടുള്ള ഗുഹകളോട് ഏറ സാമ്യം തോന്നിപ്പിക്കുന്നതാണ് ഭജെ ഗുഹകളും.അറബിക്കടലിൽ നിന്നും ഡെക്കാൻ പീഠഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന രണ്ടായിരം വർഷം പഴക്കമുള്ള വ്യാപാര പാതയും ഡെക്കാൻ പീഠഭൂമിയേയും കൊങ്കൺ കടൽത്തീരങ്ങളെയും തമ്മിൽ ബന്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മലയിടുക്കും ഒക്ക ചേരുന്ന ഇവിടം ചരിത്രം തേടുന്ന സഞ്ചാരികള്‍ക്ക് പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടതാണ്. അതിമനോഹരമായ വാസ്തുവിദ്യയും ചുവർചിത്രങ്ങളും കൊത്തുപണികളും ഒക്കെ ഇവിടുത്തെ ഗുഹകളിൽ കാണുവാൻ സാധിക്കും. കാലങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് മുന്‍പേ സംഗീതത്തിനും കലയ്ക്കും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന പ്രാധാന്യം ഈ ഗുഹകളിലെ കൊത്തു പണികളില്‍ നിന്നും വ്യക്തംبذریعے News60 ML| 543 نظٓارہ

ഒരൊറ്റ വലിയ മലയിൽ നിന്നും 29 ഗുഹകൾ നിർമ്മിക്കപ്പെട്ടു അതാണ് അജന്ത ഗുഹകൾ.മഹാരാഷ്ട്രയിലെ ഔറംഗബാദ് ജില്ലയിലെ അജന്തയിൽ ബി.സി.ഇ. രണ്ടാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടു മുതൽ എ.ഡി. ഏഴാം നൂറ്റാണ്ടു വരേയുള്ള കാലഘട്ടത്തിൽ പലപ്പോഴായി കരിങ്കല്ലിൽ കൊത്തിയെടുത്ത ഗുഹാക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളാണ്‌ അജന്ത ഗുഹകൾ . ഒരു വലിയ കരിങ്കല്ലിന്റെ മല അങ്ങിനെ തന്നെ ക്ഷേത്രമാക്കി മാറ്റുകയായിരുന്നു. ഈ ഗുഹകളിൽ കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ചിത്രങ്ങളും ശില്പങ്ങളും ബുദ്ധമതകലയുടെ മകുടോദാഹരണമായി കണക്കാക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. 1983 മുതൽ അജന്ത ഗുഹകളെ യുനെസ്കോയുടെ ലോകപൈതൃകകേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. 1817-ൽ ഹൈദരാബാദ് നൈസാമിന്റെ സൈന്യത്തിൽ സേവനം അനുഷ്ഠിച്ചിരുന്ന ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് പടയാളികളാണ് ഈ ഗുഹ ആദ്യമായി കണ്ടെത്തുന്നത്. പലതരം ക്ഷുദ്രജീവികളുടെ ആവാസ കേന്ദ്രമായിരുന്ന ഇവിടം പിന്നീട് പുരാവസ്തു ഗവേഷകരുടെ ശ്രദ്ധയിൽ പെട്ട ശേഷമാണ് ഇന്നു കാണുന്ന അവസ്ഥയിലേക്ക് മാറ്റിയെടുത്തത്. 1829-ൽ ഫെർഗൂസൻ എന്ന പുരാവസ്തു ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞൻ ഇവിടം സന്ദർശിക്കുകയും ഗവേഷണങ്ങളിൽ ഏർപ്പെടുകയുമുണ്ടായി. ഇദ്ദേഹമാണ് അന്നത്തെ ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഇന്ത്യാ ഗവണ്മെന്റിനെ ഈഗുഹാചിത്രങ്ങളുഉടെ പ്രാധാന്യത്തെ കുറിച്ച് ആദ്യമായി അറിയിക്കുന്നത്. ചരിത്രകാരന്മാര്‍ പറയുന്നത് ഒരു വലിയ മലയെ മുകളില്‍ നിന്നും തുരന്നു താഴേക്ക്‌ വന്നു കൊണ്ട് ക്ഷേത്രം നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ്. അവിടെയുള്ള ഒരു തൂണിനു മാത്രം ഉയരം 100 അടിയുണ്ട്. ചരിത്രകാരന്മാര്‍ക്കും പുരാവസ്തു ശാസ്ത്രജ്ഞന്‍മാര്‍ക്കും ഇന്നും ഉത്തരം കിട്ടാത്ത ഒരു കാര്യമാണ് എങ്ങിനെ അതിനുള്ളില്‍ നിന്നും ഇത്രയധികം കല്ല്‌ തുരന്നു പുറത്തേക്കു കൊണ്ട് പോയി എന്നത്.ഏകദേശം നൂറോളം അടി താഴ്ചയിൽ നിർമ്മിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള 29 ഗുഹകൾ അജന്തയിലുണ്ട്. ഇതിൽ എട്ടെണ്ണം അപൂർണമാണ്. ഇവ നിലത്തു നിന്ന് പണിതിയർത്തിയ നിർമ്മിതികൾ അല്ല. വലിയ പർവതങ്ങൾ, അവയുടെ പാറകൾ വശങ്ങളിൽ നിന്ന് തുരന്നാണ് നിർമ്മാണം. വലിയ കൽതൂണുകൾകൊണ്ട് ക്ഷേത്ര ഗോപുരങ്ങൾ താങ്ങിനിർത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ചില ഗുഹകളുടെ മുകൾഭാഗം പരന്നതും ചിലതിന്റേത് കമാനാകൃതിയിലുമാണ്. രണ്ടുതരം നിർമ്മിതികൾ ഈ ഗുഹാ ക്ഷേത്രങ്ങളിൽ ഉണ്ട്. ഒന്ന് പ്രാർത്ഥനക്കായി നിർമ്മിച്ചവയും, മറ്റൊന്ന് ബുദ്ധഭിക്ഷുക്കൾക്ക് താമസത്തിനുള്ളവയും. പ്രാർത്ഥനക്കായി നിർമ്മിച്ചവയിൽ ഓരോന്നിലും ബുദ്ധപبذریعے News60 ML| 82 نظٓارہ
