He says the Congress government provided him with the funds he asked for and he used that money for various developmental schemes in the village. They used MNREGA money to do sanitation work in the village. One of his biggest tasks was to get government schemes to the people. And to make people understand how they would benefit from such schemes. He says earlier people had no idea about the schemes government launched but today with so much awareness it's the people who come and say 'Find out more about this scheme and get it for us'.

Majeed came to Mewat, Haryana 50 years back. He has seen some tough times since. He built a small hut and lived with his wife and four children. Majeed worked as a laborer, he did all kinds of jobs like breaking stones, loading bricks, digging and construction work etc. He later learnt how to drive and would drive a tractor.
As the children grew older he felt his hut became overcrowded. So he availed the Priyadarshini Awaas Yojna that provided him with financial assistance of INR 90,100 from the state for the construction of a new home in three installments.
Majeed now lives in new home with his wife, 4 children and grandchildren a very happy life.
