Shri Gandhi explained the Madhya Pradesh had different norms for different people. He said when a rich man's land was acquired by the government; he was paid compensation as per the prevalent market rate. But when a poor man's land was acquired, no one ever bothered to seek his consent.

The Congress Vice President said the Congress-led UPA government has brought a new legislation for land acquisition which would ensure even the poorest man would be paid four times the market rate as compensation when his and was acquired by the government. Even the people who worked as labourers on the acquired land would be paid by the government in order to compensate for his loss of employment.
Shri Gandhi asked the people who had come to hear him to vote for the Congress in large numbers and usher in a government of the youth, of women, of tribals, of the poor, and of the Dalits.
Shri Gandhi explained how the Congress and the BJP saw the same issues differently. But there is big difference in their thinking.
