NGT ने उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार पर 25 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना गंगा की सफाई को लेकर

गंग नहर में गंदा पानी गिरने से रोकने में नाकाम रहने पर उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार पर 25 लाख रुपये का जुर्माना लगाया है। एनजीटी ने कहा कि किसी जलधारा में सीवर का पानी गिराना अपराध है। एनजीटी प्रमुख न्यायमूर्ति आदर्श कुमार गोयल की अध्यक्षता वाली पीठ ने कहा कि उचित कूड़ा प्रबंधन और इसके शोधन के लिए पर्याप्त कदम नहीं उठाए गए। स्वच्छ पर्यावरण मौलिक अधिकार है और अधिकारियों की उदासीनता से दंडात्मक कार्रवाई करके निपटा जाना चाहिए। एनजीटी ने इससे पहले प्रदूषण रोकने की समय सीमा के साथ एक संयुक्त समिति गठित की थी,
