    കൈകളില്ലാതെ ജനിച്ച കുഞ്ഞ് ഹാന്‍ഡ്‌റൈറ്റിംഗ് മത്സരത്തില്‍ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനം ഏവരെയും അത്ഭുതപെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് .ചൈനക്കാരിയായ സാറ ഹിന്‍സ്ലി എന്ന പത്തുവയസുകാരിയുടേതാണ് ഈ കഥ. ജനിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ സാറയ്ക്ക് കൈകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. വളര്‍ന്നുവരുമ്പോള്‍ മകള്‍ എങ്ങനെ മറ്റ് കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം പഠിക്കുകയും കളിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നോര്‍ത്ത് അവളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ ദുഖത്തിലായിരുന്നു . സാറയുടെ വീട്ടുകാർ അവളെ വളർത്തിയത് കുറവുകളെ ആത്മവിശ്വാസം കൊണ്ട് തോല്‍പിക്കുന്ന മികച്ച വ്യക്തിത്വമുള്ള ഒരാളായിട്ടായിരുന്നു. സാറയുടെ സ്‌കൂള്‍ പഠനസമയത്ത് തന്നെ അവര്‍ ചൈനയില്‍ നിന്ന് യുഎസിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറി. കൈപ്പത്തിയും വിരലുകളുമില്ലാത്ത സാറ, കൈത്തണ്ടകള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ പേന വച്ച് അക്ഷരങ്ങള്‍ എഴുതിത്തുടങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു .എഴുത്തിനൊപ്പം തന്നെ വരയ്ക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി. അതുപോലെ കളിമണ്ണ് കൊണ്ട് ശില്‍പങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാക്കിത്തുടങ്ങി. മറ്റാരെയും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കാതെ എല്ലാകാര്യങ്ങളും സ്വന്തമായി തന്നെ ചെയ്ത തുടങ്ങി .'എന്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു കാര്യം അവളെക്കൊണ്ട് പറ്റില്ലെന്ന് അവള് പറഞ്ഞതായി ഞാന്‍ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല. സ്‌കൂളിലൊക്കെ താരമാണ് സാറ. നിങ്ങളെന്ത് ടാസ്‌ക് കൊടുത്താലും അവളത് അവളെക്കൊണ്ട് കഴിയുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ വൃത്തിയായി ചെയ്തുകാണിക്കും.' സാറയുടെ അധ്യാപികയുടെ വാക്കുകളാണിത് .മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ക്കും സാറയെ പറ്റി പറയുമ്പോള്‍ അഭിമാനം മാത്രം. അക്ഷരങ്ങള്‍ കൂട്ടിയെഴുതിത്തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ വലിയൊരു കടമ്പ കടന്നതുപോലെയാണ് അവര്‍ക്ക് തോന്നിയത്. ഇപ്പോഴിതാ മികച്ച കയ്യക്ഷരത്തിനുള്ള നിക്കോളാസ് മാക്‌സിം അവാര്‍ഡ് ജേതാവായിരിക്കുന്നു സാറ.'അക്ഷരങ്ങളെഴുതുന്നത് എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമാണ്. അതൊരു ആര്‍ട്ട് പോലെയാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ വരയ്ക്കണം. ചുറ്റും കാണുന്ന സാധാരണ കാര്യങ്ങളെ തന്നെ വരയ്ക്കാനാണ് എനിക്കിഷ്ടം'- സാറ പറയുന്നു. വളര്‍ന്ന് വലിയ ആളാകുമ്പോള്‍ ഒരു ആര്‍ട്ടിസ്റ്റായി അറിയപ്പെടണമെന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് സാറയുടെ മോഹം.
    അവളിലെ ആത്മവിശ്വാസവും ജീവിതത്തോടുള്ള പ്രതീക്ഷയും ആ മോഹം സഫലമാക്കി നല്‍കുമെന്നാണ് അമ്മ കാതറീനും അച്ഛന്‍ ഹിന്‍സ്ലിയും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത്.

    കൈകളില്ലാതെ ജനിച്ച കുഞ്ഞ് ഹാന്‍ഡ്‌റൈറ്റിംഗ് മത്സരത്തില്‍ ഒന്നാം സ്ഥാനം ഏവരെയും അത്ഭുതപെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് .ചൈനക്കാരിയായ സാറ ഹിന്‍സ്ലി എന്ന പത്തുവയസുകാരിയുടേതാണ് ഈ കഥ. ജനിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ സാറയ്ക്ക് കൈകളുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. വളര്‍ന്നുവരുമ്പോള്‍ മകള്‍ എങ്ങനെ മറ്റ് കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം പഠിക്കുകയും കളിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്നോര്‍ത്ത് അവളുടെ മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ ദുഖത്തിലായിരുന്നു . സാറയുടെ വീട്ടുകാർ അവളെ വളർത്തിയത് കുറവുകളെ ആത്മവിശ്വാസം കൊണ്ട് തോല്‍പിക്കുന്ന മികച്ച വ്യക്തിത്വമുള്ള ഒരാളായിട്ടായിരുന്നു. സാറയുടെ സ്‌കൂള്‍ പഠനസമയത്ത് തന്നെ അവര്‍ ചൈനയില്‍ നിന്ന് യുഎസിലേക്ക് കുടിയേറി. കൈപ്പത്തിയും വിരലുകളുമില്ലാത്ത സാറ, കൈത്തണ്ടകള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ പേന വച്ച് അക്ഷരങ്ങള്‍ എഴുതിത്തുടങ്ങുകയായിരുന്നു .എഴുത്തിനൊപ്പം തന്നെ വരയ്ക്കാനും തുടങ്ങി. അതുപോലെ കളിമണ്ണ് കൊണ്ട് ശില്‍പങ്ങളും ഉണ്ടാക്കിത്തുടങ്ങി. മറ്റാരെയും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിക്കാതെ എല്ലാകാര്യങ്ങളും സ്വന്തമായി തന്നെ ചെയ്ത തുടങ്ങി .'എന്തെങ്കിലും ഒരു കാര്യം അവളെക്കൊണ്ട് പറ്റില്ലെന്ന് അവള് പറഞ്ഞതായി ഞാന്‍ കേട്ടിട്ടില്ല. സ്‌കൂളിലൊക്കെ താരമാണ് സാറ. നിങ്ങളെന്ത് ടാസ്‌ക് കൊടുത്താലും അവളത് അവളെക്കൊണ്ട് കഴിയുന്ന രീതിയില്‍ വൃത്തിയായി ചെയ്തുകാണിക്കും.' സാറയുടെ അധ്യാപികയുടെ വാക്കുകളാണിത് .മാതാപിതാക്കള്‍ക്കും സാറയെ പറ്റി പറയുമ്പോള്‍ അഭിമാനം മാത്രം. അക്ഷരങ്ങള്‍ കൂട്ടിയെഴുതിത്തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോള്‍ തന്നെ വലിയൊരു കടമ്പ കടന്നതുപോലെയാണ് അവര്‍ക്ക് തോന്നിയത്. ഇപ്പോഴിതാ മികച്ച കയ്യക്ഷരത്തിനുള്ള നിക്കോളാസ് മാക്‌സിം അവാര്‍ഡ് ജേതാവായിരിക്കുന്നു സാറ.'അക്ഷരങ്ങളെഴുതുന്നത് എനിക്ക് ഇഷ്ടമാണ്. അതൊരു ആര്‍ട്ട് പോലെയാണ് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നത്. ഇടയ്ക്കിടെ വരയ്ക്കണം. ചുറ്റും കാണുന്ന സാധാരണ കാര്യങ്ങളെ തന്നെ വരയ്ക്കാനാണ് എനിക്കിഷ്ടം'- സാറ പറയുന്നു. വളര്‍ന്ന് വലിയ ആളാകുമ്പോള്‍ ഒരു ആര്‍ട്ടിസ്റ്റായി അറിയപ്പെടണമെന്ന് തന്നെയാണ് സാറയുടെ മോഹം.
    അവളിലെ ആത്മവിശ്വാസവും ജീവിതത്തോടുള്ള പ്രതീക്ഷയും ആ മോഹം സഫലമാക്കി നല്‍കുമെന്നാണ് അമ്മ കാതറീനും അച്ഛന്‍ ഹിന്‍സ്ലിയും വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നത്.
