    അറുപതാമത്തെ വയസുവരെ ഒരു ക്യാമറ പോലും കൈകൊണ്ട് തൊടാത്ത തെല്‍മ പെപ്പർ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റിയെട്ടാമത്തെ വയസിലെത്തി നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫറും ,ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചിയിതാവും കൂടിയാണ്.അറുപതിന് ശേഷമാണ് മിക്ക ആള്‍ക്കാർക്കും ജീവിതം ശരിക്കും ആസ്വദിക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കുകയെന്നാണ് തെല്‍മ പെപ്പര്‍ പറയുന്നത്. അതിനു കാരണം അറുപതാമത്തെ വയസുവരെ തെല്‍മ ഒരു ക്യാമറ പോലും കൈകൊണ്ട് തൊട്ടിട്ടില്ല പക്ഷേ അതിനുശേഷമുള്ള മുപ്പത്തിയെട്ട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ തെൽമ ലോകത്തിനു സമ്മാനിച്ചത് അതിമനോഹരമായ ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് . 98 വയസുള്ള തെൽമ ഇന്ന് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള നാല് പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചിയിതാവുകൂടിയാണ് .1990 കളില്‍ സസ്‌കത്‌ചെവാൻ പാടങ്ങളിലെ സ്ത്രീ തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ ജീവിതം ക്യാമറയില്‍ പകർത്തിയ തെൽമക്ക് ലഭിച്ചത് -സസ്‌കത്‌ചെവാന്‍ ഓർഡർ ഓഫ് മെരിറ്റ് എന്ന അവാർഡും ലഭിച്ചു .ഈ ആദരവ് ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങുന്ന ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം ചെന്ന വനിതകൂടിയാണ് തെൽമ .ജീവിതം ശരിക്കും ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത് 60 കള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷമാണ്, കാരണം നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്‍ വീട് വിട്ട് പോകും. ചിലപ്പോള്‍ ശരീരത്തിലെ സെല്ലുകള്‍ നശിച്ചെന്നിരിക്കും പക്ഷേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ബുദ്ധി അപ്പോഴും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടാകും തെല്‍മ പറയുന്നു.തന്റെ ക്യാമറക്കണ്ണുകളില്‍ പതിഞ്ഞ ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ തെല്‍മക്ക് ഏറ്റവും പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടത് ഈ ചിത്രമാണ്. " ഇതാണ് ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മുഖത്തെ ഭാവം. ഓരോ തവണ കാണുമ്പോഴും വ്യത്യസ്തമായി തോന്നും. ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ കയ്‌പേറിയ യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യങ്ങളും, അതിജീവിച്ച യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ഓര്‍മ്മകളുമെല്ലാം ആ കണ്ണുകളില്‍ കാണാന്‍ കഴിയും" തെല്‍മ പറയുന്നു. കുടുംബങ്ങളിലെ ജോലി ഭാരം മുഴുവൻ ചുമലിലേറ്റുന്നവരാണ് സ്ത്രീകൾ. പിന്നീട് കിട്ടുന്ന ഒഴിവു സമയങ്ങളിൽ തലയണക്കവറും, പൂക്കൂട നിർമാണവുമൊക്കെയായിരിക്കും പ്രധാന പരിപാടി. നമ്മിൽ തന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന ഓരോ സർഗ്ഗാത്മക വാസനയും തിരിച്ചറിയണം. അങ്ങനെ ജീവിതത്തെ കൂടുതൽ ആസ്വാദ്യകരമാക്കാന്‍ കഴിയണമെന്നാണ് തെൽമക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത്.

    അറുപതാമത്തെ വയസുവരെ ഒരു ക്യാമറ പോലും കൈകൊണ്ട് തൊടാത്ത തെല്‍മ പെപ്പർ തൊണ്ണൂറ്റിയെട്ടാമത്തെ വയസിലെത്തി നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫറും ,ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചിയിതാവും കൂടിയാണ്.അറുപതിന് ശേഷമാണ് മിക്ക ആള്‍ക്കാർക്കും ജീവിതം ശരിക്കും ആസ്വദിക്കുവാന്‍ സാധിക്കുകയെന്നാണ് തെല്‍മ പെപ്പര്‍ പറയുന്നത്. അതിനു കാരണം അറുപതാമത്തെ വയസുവരെ തെല്‍മ ഒരു ക്യാമറ പോലും കൈകൊണ്ട് തൊട്ടിട്ടില്ല പക്ഷേ അതിനുശേഷമുള്ള മുപ്പത്തിയെട്ട് വര്‍ഷങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ തെൽമ ലോകത്തിനു സമ്മാനിച്ചത് അതിമനോഹരമായ ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് . 98 വയസുള്ള തെൽമ ഇന്ന് ഫോട്ടോഗ്രഫിയെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള നാല് പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ രചിയിതാവുകൂടിയാണ് .1990 കളില്‍ സസ്‌കത്‌ചെവാൻ പാടങ്ങളിലെ സ്ത്രീ തൊഴിലാളികളുടെ ജീവിതം ക്യാമറയില്‍ പകർത്തിയ തെൽമക്ക് ലഭിച്ചത് -സസ്‌കത്‌ചെവാന്‍ ഓർഡർ ഓഫ് മെരിറ്റ് എന്ന അവാർഡും ലഭിച്ചു .ഈ ആദരവ് ഏറ്റുവാങ്ങുന്ന ഏറ്റവും പ്രായം ചെന്ന വനിതകൂടിയാണ് തെൽമ .ജീവിതം ശരിക്കും ആരംഭിക്കുന്നത് 60 കള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷമാണ്, കാരണം നിങ്ങളുടെ മക്കള്‍ വീട് വിട്ട് പോകും. ചിലപ്പോള്‍ ശരീരത്തിലെ സെല്ലുകള്‍ നശിച്ചെന്നിരിക്കും പക്ഷേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ബുദ്ധി അപ്പോഴും പ്രവര്‍ത്തിക്കുന്നുണ്ടാകും തെല്‍മ പറയുന്നു.തന്റെ ക്യാമറക്കണ്ണുകളില്‍ പതിഞ്ഞ ചിത്രങ്ങളില്‍ തെല്‍മക്ക് ഏറ്റവും പ്രിയപ്പെട്ടത് ഈ ചിത്രമാണ്. " ഇതാണ് ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ മുഖത്തെ ഭാവം. ഓരോ തവണ കാണുമ്പോഴും വ്യത്യസ്തമായി തോന്നും. ജീവിതത്തിന്റെ കയ്‌പേറിയ യാഥാര്‍ഥ്യങ്ങളും, അതിജീവിച്ച യുദ്ധത്തിന്റെ ഓര്‍മ്മകളുമെല്ലാം ആ കണ്ണുകളില്‍ കാണാന്‍ കഴിയും" തെല്‍മ പറയുന്നു. കുടുംബങ്ങളിലെ ജോലി ഭാരം മുഴുവൻ ചുമലിലേറ്റുന്നവരാണ് സ്ത്രീകൾ. പിന്നീട് കിട്ടുന്ന ഒഴിവു സമയങ്ങളിൽ തലയണക്കവറും, പൂക്കൂട നിർമാണവുമൊക്കെയായിരിക്കും പ്രധാന പരിപാടി. നമ്മിൽ തന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്ന ഓരോ സർഗ്ഗാത്മക വാസനയും തിരിച്ചറിയണം. അങ്ങനെ ജീവിതത്തെ കൂടുതൽ ആസ്വാദ്യകരമാക്കാന്‍ കഴിയണമെന്നാണ് തെൽമക്ക് പറയാനുള്ളത്.
