    സ്വവര്‍ഗരതിയിലും വ്യഭിചാരത്തിലും ഏര്‍പ്പെടുന്നവര്‍ക്ക് വധശിക്ഷ നടപ്പാക്കാനൊരുങ്ങി ക്വാലാലംപുലെ ബ്രൂണെ.
    കുറ്റക്കാരായവരെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞ് കൊല്ലാനാണ് പുതിയ നിയമപരിഷ്‌കരണത്തിലെ നിര്‍ദേശം. ഏപ്രില്‍ മൂന്ന് മുതല്‍ പുതിയ നിയമം രാജ്യത്ത് നിലവില്‍വരും. ശരീഅത്ത് നിയമം പിന്തുടരുന്ന ബ്രൂണെയില്‍ വ്യഭിചാരത്തിനും സ്വവര്‍ഗരതിക്കും കടുത്ത ശിക്ഷ ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്താന്‍ ഭരണകൂടം നേരത്തെ തീരുമാനിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഇതനുസരിച്ച് മോഷണക്കുറ്റത്തിന് ശിക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടുന്നവരുടെ വലതു കൈയും ഇടതുകാലും മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റണമെന്ന നിയമം നടപ്പിലാക്കാനും നിര്‍ദേശമുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇതോടൊപ്പമാണ് സ്വവര്‍ഗരതിയ്ക്കും വ്യഭിചാരത്തിനും വധശിക്ഷ നടപ്പിലാക്കാനും ബ്രൂണെ ഭരണകൂടം തീരുമാനമെടുത്തത്.
    പുതിയ നിയമപരിഷ്‌കാരമനുസരിച്ച് മോഷണക്കുറ്റത്തിന് ആദ്യതവണ പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ വലതുകൈ മുറിച്ചുമാറ്റും.
    രണ്ടാമതും മോഷണക്കുറ്റത്തിന് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ ഇടതുകാലും അറുത്തുമാറ്റും. ഏപ്രില്‍ മൂന്ന് മുതല്‍ ഈ നിയമവും പ്രാബല്യത്തില്‍ വരും. സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ ഹസനല്‍ ബോല്‍ക്കിയ ഭരിക്കുന്ന ബ്രൂണെയില്‍ സ്വവര്‍ഗരതി നേരത്തെ തന്നെ നിയമവിരുദ്ധമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഡിസംബറിലാണ് സ്വവര്‍ഗരതിയില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെടുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞ് കൊല്ലണമെന്ന നിയമം നടപ്പിലാക്കാന്‍ നിര്‍ദേശമുയര്‍ന്നത്. ഇതനുസരിച്ച് ഭരണകൂടം പുതിയ നിയമങ്ങളും വകുപ്പുകളും നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഏപ്രില്‍ മൂന്നിന് പരിഷ്‌കരിച്ച നിയമങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചും പുതിയ ശരീഅത്ത് സംബന്ധിച്ചും ബ്രൂണെ സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപനം നടത്തും.

    അതേസമയം സ്വവര്‍ഗരതിക്കും വ്യഭിചാരത്തിനും വധശിക്ഷ നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നതിനെതിരെ വലതുപക്ഷ സംഘടനകളും മനുഷ്യാവകാശ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും പ്രതിഷേധവുമായി രംഗത്തെത്തി. ഇത്തരം ശിക്ഷാരീതികള്‍ നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത് മനുഷ്യത്വരഹിതമായ പ്രവൃത്തിയാണെന്നും ഇത് രാജ്യത്തെ പിന്നോട്ടടിക്കുമെന്നുമാണ് നിയമത്തെ എതിര്‍ക്കുന്നവരുടെ വാദം. സംഭവം വിവാദമായതോടെ പുതിയ നിയമങ്ങള്‍ നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നത് അടിയന്തരമായി നിര്‍ത്തിവെക്കാന്‍ ആംനസ്റ്റി ഇന്റര്‍നാഷണലും ബ്രൂണെയോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതിനിടെ ഏപ്രില്‍ മൂന്നിന് ബ്രൂണെ സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ പുതിയ നിയമത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് രാജ്യത്തെ അഭിസംബോധന ചെയ്യുമെന്നാണ് സര്‍ക്കാര്

    രണ്ടാമതും മോഷണക്കുറ്റത്തിന് പിടിക്കപ്പെട്ടാല്‍ ഇടതുകാലും അറുത്തുമാറ്റും. ഏപ്രില്‍ മൂന്ന് മുതല്‍ ഈ നിയമവും പ്രാബല്യത്തില്‍ വരും. സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ ഹസനല്‍ ബോല്‍ക്കിയ ഭരിക്കുന്ന ബ്രൂണെയില്‍ സ്വവര്‍ഗരതി നേരത്തെ തന്നെ നിയമവിരുദ്ധമാക്കിയിരുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞ ഡിസംബറിലാണ് സ്വവര്‍ഗരതിയില്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെടുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറിഞ്ഞ് കൊല്ലണമെന്ന നിയമം നടപ്പിലാക്കാന്‍ നിര്‍ദേശമുയര്‍ന്നത്. ഇതനുസരിച്ച് ഭരണകൂടം പുതിയ നിയമങ്ങളും വകുപ്പുകളും നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു. ഏപ്രില്‍ മൂന്നിന് പരിഷ്‌കരിച്ച നിയമങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ചും പുതിയ ശരീഅത്ത് സംബന്ധിച്ചും ബ്രൂണെ സുല്‍ത്താന്‍ പ്രഖ്യാപനം നടത്തും.
