Know Your Squad- Royal Challengers Bangalore IPL 2018

Royal Challengers Bangalore, one of the most strongest
teams on paper from past many seasons has till yet not
performed well to live up to its expectations. The previous
season was a nightmare for this team but one man who is in
a different league of legends, Virat Kohli, didn’t disappoint his
fans with his performances.
The major challenges faced by the team was lack of a good
bowling unit. Most of the time the core batting unit which
consisted of Gayle, Kohli and ABD striked well to give the
bowlers a cushion to save the target in a relatively smaller
ground of Chinnaswami Stadium. The only pick of the
bowlers was Yuzvendra Chahal, who took wickets at a regular
interval along with a decent economy. He hadn’t find a good
partner alongside him to devastate the opposition batting
lineup.
This time the team management’s thoughts in IPL auction
were clear enough to strengthen their bowling lineup for
which they seek the help of Indian bowling veteran Ashish
Nehra. They have bought good young Indian domestic fast
bowlers like Navdeep Saini, Kulwant Khejroliya etc. and all
the 4 fast bowlers too who bowled out the entire team for a
meagre 49.
While Virat Kohli, ABD and Sarfaraz Khan were retained by
the owners, Chahal and Pawan Negi were brought into the
squad using the Right To Match card. They decided to let go
of their star batsman of the past 7 seasons, Chris Gayle, who
seems to be in the twilight of his career at the moment.
