ഉത്തരാഖണ്ട് ഹൈക്കോടതിയും മൃഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കായി രംഗത്തെത്തിയതോടെ പരസ്യമായി ആടുകളെ അറുക്കാന്‍ പറ്റാത്ത അവസ്ഥ ആയിരുന്നു. ഇതോടെയാണ് കേക്ക് മുറിക്കല്‍ എന്ന ആശയം ഉടലെടുത്തത്. മൃഗങ്ങളെ കൊലക്ക് കൊടുക്കുന്നവര്‍ക്കെതിരെ കേസ് എടുക്കുമെന്നും കോടതി അറിയിച്ചു.

മകനെ സ്‌കൂളിലേക്ക് അയക്കാന്‍ ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് 15 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ നീളത്തില്‍ മലമ്പ്രദേശത്തുകൂടി വഴി വെട്ടി ഒരച്ഛന്‍. ഒഡീഷ സ്വദേശി ജലന്ധര്‍ നായികാണ് ഇപ്പോള്‍ വാര്‍ത്തയിലെ താരമാകുന്നത്.ജലന്ധര്‍ നായികിന്റെ ഗ്രാമത്തെയും പ്രധാന റോഡിനെയും ബന്ധപ്പെടുത്തിയാല്‍ മാത്രമെ മകന് സ്‌കൂളില്‍ പോകാനാവു.വഴിയില്ലാത്തതിനാല്‍ മകന് പഠനം ലഭിക്കില്ലെന്ന് വന്നപ്പോഴാണ് നായിക് സാഹസത്തിന് മുതിര്ന്നത്. അതിനായി ദിവസവും എട്ട് മണിക്കൂര്‍ വഴി വെട്ടാന്‍ മാറ്റി വെച്ചു.ഒഡീഷയിലെ ഗുംസാഹി ഗ്രാമത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ഫുല്‍ബാനി പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കെത്താനാണ് ജലന്ധര്‍ നായിക് ഒറ്റയ്ക്ക് അധ്വാനിച്ചത്. പച്ചക്കറി വില്‍പ്പന നടത്തുന്ന ജലന്ധറിന് സ്‌കൂള്‍ വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നേടാനുള്ള അവസരം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. തന്റെ മക്കള്‍ കുന്ന് കടന്ന് പട്ടണത്തിലെത്താന്‍ കഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നത് കണ്ടപ്പോഴാണ് റോഡ് നിര്‍മിക്കണമെന്ന് തോന്നിയതെന്ന് ജലന്ധര്‍ നായിക് പറയുന്നു
