    എറണാകുളം കോതാട് തിരുഹൃദയ പള്ളിയിലെ പെരുന്നാളിന് പച്ചക്കറികള്‍ കൊണ്ടാണ് അലങ്കാരം. തിരുന്നാളിന് ശേഷം ഈ പച്ചക്കറികള്‍ ലേലം ചെയ്തെടുക്കും. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് അലങ്കാരങ്ങള്‍ മാറ്റി പ്രകൃതിയോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് മാതൃകയാകുകയാണ് ഈ വ്യത്യസ്തതയുള്ള ആഘോഷം.ഒരു വലിയ മാര്‍ക്കറ്റില്‍ കിട്ടുന്ന എല്ലാ പച്ചക്കറികളും അലങ്കാരത്തിനായി കൊണ്ട് വന്നിരുന്നു. ദിവ്യകാരുണ്യ പെരുന്നാളിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഇത്തരം ആഘോഷം നടത്തിയത്.ഈ അവസരത്തില്‍ പന്തല്‍ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് പച്ചക്കറികളും പഴങ്ങളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്
    2016 ല്‍ ആണ് ദിവ്യകാരുണ്യ പെരുന്നാളിന് ഇത്തരമൊരു അലങ്കാരം ആരംഭിച്ചത്.അന്ന് വികാരിയായിരുന്ന ഫാ. ബിജു പട്ടാരശ്ശേരിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ വിവിധ ഭക്തസംഘടനാംഗങ്ങളും ഇടവകയിലെ കുടുംബങ്ങളും ചേര്‍ന്ന് അലങ്കാരങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാം പഴങ്ങള്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ചാണ് നടത്തിയത്.എന്നാല്‍ പ്രദക്ഷിണത്തിനു ശേഷം എടുത്തുപയോഗിക്കാവുന്നത് പച്ചക്കറികള്‍ ആയതിനാലാണ് പിന്നീട് അലങ്കാരം പച്ചക്കറിയിലേക്ക് വഴി മാറിയത്.വീട്ടുകാര്‍ കൊണ്ട് വരുന്ന പച്ചക്കറികള്‍ പ്രദക്ഷിണത്തിനു ശേഷം എല്ലാവരും കൂടി വിലക്കുറവില്‍ ലേലം ചെയ്തെടുത്ത് വീട്ടില്‍ കൊണ്ട് പോകുന്നു. പന്തലിന്റെ വശങ്ങളില്‍ വാഴക്കുലകളും കരിക്കിന്‍ കുലകളും വച്ച് അലങ്കരിക്കാറുണ്ട്.ഏകദേശം 65-70 കുലകള്‍ ആവശ്യമായി വരും.

    എറണാകുളം കോതാട് തിരുഹൃദയ പള്ളിയിലെ പെരുന്നാളിന് പച്ചക്കറികള്‍ കൊണ്ടാണ് അലങ്കാരം. തിരുന്നാളിന് ശേഷം ഈ പച്ചക്കറികള്‍ ലേലം ചെയ്തെടുക്കും. പ്ലാസ്റ്റിക്ക് അലങ്കാരങ്ങള്‍ മാറ്റി പ്രകൃതിയോട് ചേര്‍ന്ന് മാതൃകയാകുകയാണ് ഈ വ്യത്യസ്തതയുള്ള ആഘോഷം.ഒരു വലിയ മാര്‍ക്കറ്റില്‍ കിട്ടുന്ന എല്ലാ പച്ചക്കറികളും അലങ്കാരത്തിനായി കൊണ്ട് വന്നിരുന്നു. ദിവ്യകാരുണ്യ പെരുന്നാളിന്റെ ഭാഗമായാണ് ഇത്തരം ആഘോഷം നടത്തിയത്.ഈ അവസരത്തില്‍ പന്തല്‍ അലങ്കരിക്കുന്നതിനാണ് പച്ചക്കറികളും പഴങ്ങളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നത്
