    പണ്ട് കിണര്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ചിലർ അതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും അടിത്തട്ടില്‍ അതിന്റെ ചുറ്റളവ്‌ കണക്കാക്കി നെല്ലിമരം കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിപിടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന വലയമാണിത്. വളരെ ലളിതമായി പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ കിണറിന്റെ അടിത്തറയിലാണ് ഈ നെല്ലിപ്പടി. നെല്ലിക്കുറ്റികൾ കൊണ്ട് ഇവ അടിയിൽ ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നു. പ്രകൃതിദത്തമായി വെള്ളം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാനും, ഒരു പ്രത്യേക സ്വാദ് ലഭിക്കാനുമുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗമായിരുന്നു അത്.ഇവക്ക് ദീർഘകാലത്തെ ആയുസ്സുമുണ്ട്. ഈയിടെ ഒരു അമ്പലക്കിണറിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് 1500 വർഷത്തോളം പഴക്കമുള്ള നെല്ലിപ്പലക കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു.
    വെള്ളം വറ്റാത്ത കിണറില്‍ നെല്ലിപ്പലക പിന്നീട് കാണാന്‍ പ്രയാസമാണ്. ഇപ്പോൾ വളരെ ചുരുക്കം ചിലരേ കിണറിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടിൽ ഇതിടാറുള്ളു.അമ്പത് വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് നെല്ലിപ്പലകകൾ വിൽക്കുന്ന കടകൾ പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് കോഴിക്കോടുള്ള ഒരു കടയിൽ മാത്രമേ ഇവയുള്ളു. പരമ്പരാഗതമായി നടത്തി വന്നതിനാലാണ് ഇന്നും ആവശ്യക്കാർ കാര്യമായി ഇല്ലെങ്കിലും ഇത് തുറക്കുന്നതെന്ന് 85 വയസ്സിലേറെ പ്രായമുള്ള ഉടമസ്ഥൻ സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.കിണറിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും അടിയിൽ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനാലാണ് ക്ഷമയുടെ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിന്റെ നെല്ലിപ്പലക കണ്ടു എന്നൊരു ചൊല്ല് തന്നെ വരൻ കാരണം . അങ്ങേ അറ്റം കണ്ടു എന്നാണ് അർത്ഥം.

    പണ്ട് കിണര്‍ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ ചിലർ അതിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും അടിത്തട്ടില്‍ അതിന്റെ ചുറ്റളവ്‌ കണക്കാക്കി നെല്ലിമരം കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാക്കിപിടിപ്പിച്ചിരുന്ന വലയമാണിത്. വളരെ ലളിതമായി പറഞ്ഞാല്‍ കിണറിന്റെ അടിത്തറയിലാണ് ഈ നെല്ലിപ്പടി. നെല്ലിക്കുറ്റികൾ കൊണ്ട് ഇവ അടിയിൽ ഉറപ്പിക്കുന്നു. പ്രകൃതിദത്തമായി വെള്ളം ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കാനും, ഒരു പ്രത്യേക സ്വാദ് ലഭിക്കാനുമുള്ള മാർഗ്ഗമായിരുന്നു അത്.ഇവക്ക് ദീർഘകാലത്തെ ആയുസ്സുമുണ്ട്. ഈയിടെ ഒരു അമ്പലക്കിണറിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടിൽ നിന്ന് 1500 വർഷത്തോളം പഴക്കമുള്ള നെല്ലിപ്പലക കണ്ടെത്തിയിരുന്നു.
    വെള്ളം വറ്റാത്ത കിണറില്‍ നെല്ലിപ്പലക പിന്നീട് കാണാന്‍ പ്രയാസമാണ്. ഇപ്പോൾ വളരെ ചുരുക്കം ചിലരേ കിണറിന്റെ അടിത്തട്ടിൽ ഇതിടാറുള്ളു.അമ്പത് വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുമ്പ് നെല്ലിപ്പലകകൾ വിൽക്കുന്ന കടകൾ പല സ്ഥലങ്ങളിലും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. ഇന്ന് കോഴിക്കോടുള്ള ഒരു കടയിൽ മാത്രമേ ഇവയുള്ളു. പരമ്പരാഗതമായി നടത്തി വന്നതിനാലാണ് ഇന്നും ആവശ്യക്കാർ കാര്യമായി ഇല്ലെങ്കിലും ഇത് തുറക്കുന്നതെന്ന് 85 വയസ്സിലേറെ പ്രായമുള്ള ഉടമസ്ഥൻ സാക്ഷ്യപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു.കിണറിന്റെ ഏറ്റവും അടിയിൽ സ്ഥാപിക്കുന്നതിനാലാണ് ക്ഷമയുടെ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ ദാരിദ്ര്യത്തിന്റെ നെല്ലിപ്പലക കണ്ടു എന്നൊരു ചൊല്ല് തന്നെ വരൻ കാരണം . അങ്ങേ അറ്റം കണ്ടു എന്നാണ് അർത്ഥം.
